Want to be part of a cosplay documentary?
Hello! You might've seen a post like this floating around before, but I decided it'd probably be easier to make another one rather than keep bumping the old one.

But anyway, hello! Call me Avox.

I'm creating a small documentary about cosplay that will eventually end up on YouTube! My cosplay group and I will be the interviewers/interviewees, but we desperately need some user contribution.

That's where you guys come in!

What we need you to do is:

1. Record yourself in front of your webcam. In cosplay, out of cosplay, totally up to you! You could do it alone, or with several different people all introducing themselves. Just a simple recording.

What you need to say is:

"I'm (NAME), I'm (AGE) and I'm a cosplayer."

For example: "I'm Farts, I'm 193, and I'm a cosplayer."

2. Send it in to us!

Our email address for the documentary is , which is where we will be accepting all submissions.

EDIT: We now have a Dropbox folder and account!

If you have a Dropbox account already, then here is the shared folder to upload to:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/toa274gafrredtx/Gh_XclwcEu

If you don't have a dropbox account, then the email is ukcosplaymv@hotmail.co.uk and the password is imacosplayer to keep things simple. Then upload your files to the I'm a Cosplayer file.

Emailing is still an option but Dropbox allows better quality!

Please send some in! We can't make a cosplay documentary without any cosplayers, hehe.

Thank you for reading!
- Avox and the rest of the Lonely Islanders (Gina, Alex, Chloe, Naomi - plus the Weird Mainlander, Georgia).

just a quick warning here... Hotmail and Windows Live inboxes have an attachment limit of 50mb per attachment...

While i think this documentary could be fun, the limits on email make it a pain for anyone to send in any high res videos to you.

Might be worth finding a skydrive or dropbox account that people could use to send their videos to you instead

(A simple, trustworthy file-sending service is FileMail.com! For those whose file sizes might exceed the limit.)

I've done something like this identical to what you're asking (from back in September) so if you're from the same group, sorry about that!

I'll try to get together with my cosplayer friend sometime soon, and we'll record a clip then.

I'm interested, but before I record anything I have a couple of questions:

How are the clips going to be used in the documentary?

What's the core concept or direction of the docu?

Cheers

Thank you all!

Methos - thanks for telling me, I honestly had no clue! (I AM NOT THE RIGHT PERSON TO BE ORGANISING THIS...)
I made a seperate dropbox account and also a folder.

If you have a dropbox account, then here is the shared folder to upload to:

FreeFallen - Yes, that was us! Well, me. I still have your file, but if you'd rather redo it (my old camera was awful skfsklgf) then that's totally fine. The more the merrier!

PandoraCaitiff -
1. The files are going to be used as sort of an intro-y thing? Showing cosplayers around the UK (and internationally, if I can get any elsewhere) and also showing that cosplay's not just for -designated age group-, it's for anyone. Most of our cosplay group are of a similar age so we do kind of need that!

2. The documentary was originally a request by one of our teachers, meant to teach our high school a little about cosplay. So it's based on an outsider's view to cosplay, and we've compiled some basic questions from one of our team who has never cosplayed but is curious about it, and a couple of people who have never heard of it. So yes, educating about cosplay! However we've asked permission from several cosplayers who have made cosplay music videos and we are allowed to use some of their footage to show really, really good international cosplayers, too.

Whoops I rambled, sorry! But yes, it's all in good intentions! We are just silly cosplayers with big ambitions.

Ah cool. Cheers. That's exactly the sort of thing I wanted

I'll see if I can record something (I'm 38 so that should help with the demographics!)

How's it going so far? I've contributed, I hope I'm not the only one!
