Hello, Hello! :3 I'm gonna start working on a cosplay soon, and I wanted to try making this >.O I wanted to try making Nurse Valentine from Skull Girls <3 Since it seems pretty simple to make =3 I'm just not sure what to make her dress out of. I dunno if cotton would be good, or something else since its a nurse outfit? And what to use for her hat. And does anyone have any suggestions what would be good for the little + crosses on her bandages and shirt? I was gonna do cardboard, but I don't think that would be very sturdy to hold up against it. And any reccomendations on how to make the cross stick to the bandages? Would you recommend I use actual white cloth/bandages and then maybe stick the crosses to it?

On another note, I can't find any red contacts with crosses for the pupil anywhere. I found somewhere that'd make custom lenses, but they're like 2k per pair. Le no. >__< So plain red ones for alot cheaper would work out just fine, right? Grr, but the cross in the eye would seal the deal! D:<

Blah, anyway - Another note ; How can I get the bandage patch over her eye to stick without it falling off?

Looking at the ones on her leg they look shiny, so if I was doing it I would maybe use 3mm acrylic plastic for the ones on the bandages. This would allow you to chamfer the top edges with sandpaper to give the same look in the photo but the central diamond might be a bit difficult. Alternatively if you use 6mm foam backed with card or 3mm craftfoam with a layer of card sandwiched between them to keep it rigid. You can could then use a dremel or sand paper to give chamfer. Paint it red and then cover in varnish or PVA to give it the shine. Which you could use for all the other ones without the backing so that it flexes with the clothes.


Yeah I think that would be the easiest, or if you want to make it match, make bandages out of the same material as the dress.


Make it with foam as well and stick it to your face with spirit gum?

I can only find white lenses with black crosses, not red, but if I find any, I will let you know. Do you need a pair or just an odd one?

Darkshines ; Yeah, all I found were white with black crosses aswell. Honestly, if I do the patch over her eye(which I'm thinking of doing), I'll just need one. But just for convenience, I'd prefer if I could have a pair.

No worries. Spirit gum is just a kind of glue used for attaching prosthetics. You can get it from a fancy dress shop (for attaching elf ears etc) or theatre shops etc or even Ebay. You just apply a bit with the brush. You then wait until it gets a bit sticky and then press whatever you want to glue onto it.
