I'll be there, provided I finish the helmet I will be doing Zero from Code Geass otherwise I'll most likely be in my Star Trek The Next Generation Dr's uniform. I had to miss the October London Expo so I'm looking forward to just about everything at Midlands that makes up an Expo. Plus I think I'll be introducing some friends to the magic of Expo.

It's my birthday so I'm definitely going!

Hope fully I'll have Kankri done by then or if not maybe Naruto or Sasuke.

If I go as Kankri my friend is coming as Meulin!

:O everything is sounding great I can't wait to see you all at the expo. I will be attending as a Character from School days ^^

This is just more incentive to be Cronus

I wasn't even planning on going originally, but I somehow signed myself up to be part of a full (movie) Avengers group with my friends

I'll be there too, not sure who to cosplay either...if my Flandre's done in time i'll bring her along, if not. Probably Kazamori Sasa or Gasai Yuno again :3

18 Dec 2012 - 10:4895176
Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games for me hopefully

20 Dec 2012 - 23:5795263
If I'm there, it's most likely going to be Panty as I'm buying the costume from a friend

Okay changed my mind will be comming as Russia from Hetalia (If it comes in time!)

If not Fem!Prussia.

I'm trying to get my Kikuchi Fuma cosplay that I wasn't able to do for October Expo finished but if not I'll be a random cheerleader from Glee. If that also fails then I'll just re-wear my Maka Albarn cosplay.

The dance meet is always fun

I'll be going as the Huntsman from Snow White and the Huntsman.

I always love how varied Midlands Expo cosplayers are.

Is anyone here entering the masquerade?

I might pop by. Its a simple train ride for me to get there so its tempting me to visit.

If I do come I'm most likely to do a simple costume as I'm unlikely to be staying over night. I'll be coming to mainly socialise ^_^

if I can get the wig in time - Lucian from Lunar Knights. If I can't, most likely Gamzee from Homestuck, or a Prinny from Disgaea. Dood!

16 Jan 2013 - 16:2796016
I'll be there as Cronus from Homestuck u_u

I filled in the online masquerade entry form - If I get a performance slot I will be doing a magic skit for the masquerade - currently re-working my Zatanna costume as I dont think I did it proper justice yet and it deserves to be done better. (Only - new job means I have less time than normal. :S )

Can't wait to see your performance this year!

Speaking of the masquerade, this'll probably sound like a daft question, since they already give examples, but has anyone got any tips on what to put with details about the costume? My costume's only about halfway through max, so I don't know what the difficult parts are or anything yet. I don't wanna leave it 'til the last minute to register tho'.

Thought it was worth an ask, getting really excited for next month!

Eeek everyones talking bout the masquerade Me and my group should be doing it too, however it'll only be the four founders and we're doing a walk on this time Cannot wait!!

Thanks AngelBless Hopefully the skit will be a lot of fun to watch. ^^

Re info on masquerade entry form - tbh I think its in there more for the announcer to maybe say something during the introduction and during your walk on eg "Next up is Angel Bless..Her costume took 4 years to complete and every piece has been hand made including all the jewels, which have been made using clear cast resin kits and hand sculpted special molds." or "This is her first armour costume" etc ...basically any interesting facts about making your costume which the audience might find interesting or even amazing whilst they are watching you parading your pride and joy in front of them. Also I think the judges read those comments so they are primed to ask you more questions when you go for the costume judging. So if you have learned something whilst you were making the costume write it down and tell them eg "This is the first time I used my button hole setting on my sewing machine and Im really pleased how they came out..I can do button holes now!" Then the judges will scrutinise the button holes up close and be pleased that you have progressed in your costume making skills. ^_^

Thanks so much for the info!! =D It's my first masquerade, so I'm a bit nervous about what to put (and way nervous about being onstage alone), so I really appreciate all the advice!

You're welcome. Dont let it scare you. Everyone will be really nice to you and supportive backstage, and then when you go on stage the crowd always cheer everybody ..it is so uplifting. Cosplay audiences are the best! You have nothing to be nervous about. ^_^

...one piece of advice I will give is practice what you want to do when you are on stage - try different poses that suit your character - use a big dressing mirror to see what poses work well, then you have an idea of what you can do on stage when you get out there - this will reduce the risk of Rabbit in the Headlights feeling and give you some confidence. Most of all enjoy yourself because that is what the day is all about.
