I had to miss the October London Expo so I'm looking forward to just about everything at Midlands that makes up an Expo. Plus I think I'll be introducing some friends to the magic of Expo. |

Hope fully I'll have Kankri done by then or if not maybe Naruto or Sasuke. If I go as Kankri my friend is coming as Meulin! |

If I do come I'm most likely to do a simple costume as I'm unlikely to be staying over night. I'll be coming to mainly socialise ^_^ |

(Only - new job means I have less time than normal. :S ) |

Speaking of the masquerade, this'll probably sound like a daft question, since they already give examples, but has anyone got any tips on what to put with details about the costume? My costume's only about halfway through max, so I don't know what the difficult parts are or anything yet. I don't wanna leave it 'til the last minute to register tho'. Thought it was worth an ask, getting really excited for next month! |

Thanks AngelBless Re info on masquerade entry form - tbh I think its in there more for the announcer to maybe say something during the introduction and during your walk on eg "Next up is Angel Bless..Her costume took 4 years to complete and every piece has been hand made including all the jewels, which have been made using clear cast resin kits and hand sculpted special molds." or "This is her first armour costume" etc ...basically any interesting facts about making your costume which the audience might find interesting or even amazing whilst they are watching you parading your pride and joy in front of them. Also I think the judges read those comments so they are primed to ask you more questions when you go for the costume judging. So if you have learned something whilst you were making the costume write it down and tell them eg "This is the first time I used my button hole setting on my sewing machine and Im really pleased how they came out..I can do button holes now!" Then the judges will scrutinise the button holes up close and be pleased that you have progressed in your costume making skills. ^_^ |

Everyone will be really nice to you and supportive backstage, and then when you go on stage the crowd always cheer everybody ..it is so uplifting. Cosplay audiences are the best! You have nothing to be nervous about. ^_^

Most of all enjoy yourself because that is what the day is all about. |
