I decided at last minute to come on the Sunday of HJ I'll be rewearing my Dilandau cosplay from the Vision of Escaflowne! (with some more repairs and touch ups OTL)

Unless I somehow get a new cosplay in 3 weeks, I will be cosplaying Konata from Lucky Star - most likely in her Haruhi cosplay.

I'll probably go in my Zero Suit Samus, or as Heroine-chan from TokiMeki Memorial girl's side.
Or if there's a Pokémon group, I'll throw in my Fennel.

I'm actually going alone, and I'm really shy when it comes to meet people in conventions.

I've only been once before a few years back but I was under the impression that it was solely a Japanese fashion and culture event (I do understand cosplay falls under that). Would I be in the minority cosplaying? :s

Not at all! Sure there are a lot more Japanese street fashion but there has been a rise in cosplay recently especially with the World Cosplay Summit and Eurocosplay Gathering.

You should be fine considering a lot of people here have said they're cosplaying too. ^-^

@ Akwa, I'll be going three days ,so feel free to come up and say hi, I'm doing REMY from Streetfighter one day (not sure which yet) Then I'm doing a couple of crossplays, so if you don't mind hanging about with a guy in a skirt or dress ,think I'm doing Chrome Dokuro one day and not decided on the other yet . I find people quite friendly ,also if you hook up with someone then it gives a opportunity for some picture taking of your own costume .

@ FreyaMint , No Hyper Japan is cool now, at the Spring event ,there where loads of cosplayers . The Earls court venue is much better and looks like Christmas event is going to be even better.

i think as my friend said were doing our ff7 cosplays again . i think were only staying saturday thou .

I'm still debating on whether to go both days (as I have school on Friday) or just the Saturday. Hmmm.

Oh, they hold a COSparade (cosplay parade) and the ECG (again, cosplay related), so people do cosplay there



With HJ, the main events are Saturday and Sunday - Friday just has stuff going on from 2pm

Yeah I'm just thinking whether to buy a weekend ticket or just only go on the Saturday like last time. ^^

Anyway, as said somewhere in this thread, I'll most likely be going as Konata. I'm currently seeing if my funds will allow a Kyouko cosplay for one of the days though, only doing her casual outfit (green jumper + short shorts). All I need is to find a wig that can get to me in time.

Bit of an odd question, do many people do non japanese costumes for this ? i've never been before.

Yep, there are loads of cosplayers on Saturday and Sunday since that's the day we have the cosplay contests. If you come on Friday you'll find there aren't that many cosplayers there.

Yes we do have a fair few people cosplaying western characters - although the majority seem to be Japanese characters for obvious reasons.

I've been enjoying SAO but I can't find any character which suits me. Gary wants me to cosplay Kuroyukihime from Accel World but that spin off has too much fan service.
