Invest in a wig cap without a doubt. I've got thick hair to my waist and I can get it all under any wig with just a wig cap and a braid. Braid you hair and flick it up so the tip points towards your face. It's the quickest method I've found of getting long hair up ready for a wig without leaving a huge bulge at the back. If you don't mind spending the extra time section your hair to spread it even more evenly in more than one braid or by doing pin curls. Make sure you use a light cap for vash as a dark colour will show through the blonde wig.

Yes, all of this.

This is one of the best people to listen to in regards to wigs! And she's 100% right!

It's quite an interesting one because with normal hair that kind of style is easy. But with wigs the hair is set to go certain ways so it's a lot harder to do, especially as you have to go against the grain at the back.

It depends on how confident you are in your wig making skills. Because you best bet would probably be to frankenstein a couple of wigs together so spikes that would have gone outwards would point upwards (if that makes any sense at all). You may even have to do things like lace the edges near the hair line and sew hair in so the wig isn't as obvious.

Sorry if that's not very helpful- that hair really is easier to do with real hair, and if you've got long hair you don't want to cut it's going to be hard.

One of the punk wigs from cosworx would work brilliantly for this. The fur like fibres spike really well and because they're made differently to regular kanekelon wigs you don't have the problem of gaps between wefts showing.

This wig is probably one of my faves to work with and it comes in blonde. The longer punk one is unfortunately made the regular way about half way down so you'd get gapping on that one. There is also a shorter one but I've never worked with it so I can't say for sure how it's made.
If you're interested in the one I linked though I've done a Sora wig using it that turned out pretty well so you can see what I mean about no gaps at the back:

Oooh, that looks really good!

Aww thanks!
It's a really good photo just to show the difference between using that kind of wig and a normal one for spikes. For example using a normal wig for spikes tends to make it turn out like this:

It spiked well at the front but because it was just lines of weft it gapped so much at the back. (Unfortunately I had to use a wig that the person had already bought.)
