Calling all catgirls/boys!
The Necomimi are being properly released with an international version.
The ears stand up when you're concentrating and lower when you're shy or relaxed, just like our feline friends.
Alright, so the sensor is a bit bulky and the ears are a bit plushy but... emotion controlled accessories! WITH YOUR BRAIN!
I'm very excited. If anyone has £100 to blow in the near future, this has to be one of the cutest things to spend it on!

Someone I know in Europe did buy an american version and apparently they work, but they can't 'control them at will' - either that's tricky with the wrong version (though I don't really see why) or this person is just not very good at it The international version does list United Kingdom though - and oddly it's $15 more than the US version. |

I've done some shallow digging for info, but there's not much to go on out there. |

TBH, unless I got to test them without having to pay the cost, I wouldn't buy them. I think they're extremely overexaggerating them. |

Since brain waves are simply electrical waves the unit reads the electrical waves your brain is making, but if the power grid of that country is making electrical waves of the frequency the headset is tuned into it will think your brain is doing things it isn't.
So the 50Hz unit is the international and UK version as in the UK we have power grids with 50Hz frequency. The units are made to cancel out 50Hz frequency and look for other frequencies produced by the brain. And the 60Hz version is the same but for 60Hz. I hope that helps Also they work in the same way the headsets that you can buy to replace a pc mouse and so surf the net with your head and stuff. Since there only looking for three types of brain wave I reckon they do work Last edited by gaming_goddess (09 Oct 2012 - 11:53) Reason: extra info |
