Hey all
So I'm sure there's a sticky somewhere with resources for weapons, but I can't find it.
Where do you go to for things like swords and shields? Or do you make them yourself? I'm nowhere near clever enough to start mucking around making a decent longsword, and have been scanning the LARP forums.
Ouch, those prices! I'm not paying £50 for a fake sword - can anyone recommend a decent fancy dress equivalent? I'd like something at least passably realistic, if possible, and eBay is proving fruitless.

that said in your dreams fx on facebook do FANTASTIC work and seem to be slightly cheaper for simple work. but your going to be look around the 30 - 60 mark generally speaking for Larp swords. __________________ ![]() |

www.eldritch.com Or find a second hand one on ebay, which you might get cheaper. Remember when bearing in mind the cost that not only do these weapons need to look good, they also need to be made safe to hit people with and to be durable so that they won't become unsafe. You're paying for something that fulfills these requirements. Making something yourself is possible but you'll need to know how to work with latex. If you want something cheaper just for posing try making something from balsa wood instead. |

As I can't guarantee I won't get drunk whilst in costume, I'm going to spend the extra and get a LARP safe weapon - it's not worth me getting over excited as Lady Sif and conking someone with a balsa wood sword! (I kid, I kid. But, still.)
The links provided are really useful, thanks again __________________ 'There is only do or do not. There is no try.' |
