Yaoi Paddles. Glomping. And over priced merch. xD There are perks in it to, like the really nice people you can meet and the cosplay masquerade ^^ |

It kind of depends on the convention. What convention are you going to? MCM london expo may Okay. The good: Masquerade Pretty decent stalls Some brilliant cosplay Spending time with people out side Some of the panels The bad: Free huggers/glompers Yaoi fantards Yaoi paddles The general stuff: Get used to lots of people. I think October this year for 25k + people. Get ready to queue for things, especially cash machines and the really popular stall. And be prepared for being patient. You'll be walking around a lot, so make sure you're in shoes that are as comfortable as possible. The games area is pretty cool. Meh... Expos are generally okay, just avoid the yaoi fantards and you shouldn't have a problem. |

Expo = Not a convention... Depends on what you definition of conventions means honestly? Its a losse term to say the least. Convention : an assembly of persons met for a common purpose ; http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/convention Anyways the expo is a bit Zany by normal con standards, but its alot of fun. Just remember to pack a lunch cause food is god awfull expensive. __________________ James Fedora Cosplay Photographer & Cinematographer Otaku Punch Pictures & Media www.otakupunch.com Facebook & YouTube Groups- Otaku Punch Pictures & Media Last edited by nadesico81 (16 Dec 2008 - 12:58) |

I'm gona take a chance and say - I was aiming to go to the same event and am not knowledged with what: Free hug signs/gloppers Yaoi paddles... mean!? Ah, the second you enter you'll know what they mean, but I shall warn you beforehand Firstly, there is a multitude of people who charge around with signs saying "Free hugs" or "Free glomps" (glomping is basically extreme hugging, with jumping on someone generally involved, apparently people tend to do it to people who aren't expecting it, although this has never happened to me.) The general idea is, if you see someone holding a free hug sign, they are inviting people to come and hug them. Some people find them a nuisance, but especially on your first expo it's easy to get hyped up and excited. Just don't go lobbing yourself on someone without their permission Yaoi paddles: Wooden oars with yaoi/yuri/seme/uke/other such things written on. Used by yaoi fangirls for spanking people with. Again, apparently this is sometimes done without permission, but I've not seen it. (Apart from my friend who kept spanking me with hers, but what're friends for, eh? >___> ) Last edited by diphenhydramine (30 Dec 2008 - 00:51) |
