Anyone have any ideas of where I could get a very cheap wig to be Misty from Pokemon or one I could style to be like that...

And any styling tips because I have no idea what I am doing

Coscraft do very nice quality wigs with uk shipping it might be worth trying there. Or you can try ebay. I buy most of mine from ebay but avoid wigs with the character name in the title as you'll be dissapointed. Also make sure it is made out of a synthetic fiber called Kanekalon. If it doesnt mention this in the listing it doesn't matter how good the picture is avoid it.

But Something like this though as a base:

Try to avoid layerd wigs as this will make it harder for you to style.

You will need a styrofoam wig head:

Then it will be a case of gently combing the hair into a side pony tail. Like you would with your own hair. Once its in place you might want to chop the end to make it look chopy and you will need to leave a little at the front to cut a fringe in. You might want to use Got2B glued:

(you can buy this in the supermarket)
But you might need this to glue the fringe into a definate point. This stuff is amazing but so sticky.

Also when I'm styling my wigs I pin the wig to the head as they can wiggly about. And some people do cut/style wigs when there on their head. I get nervous of cutting my own hair using this method though.
Hope that helps

Nah you'll be fine. I just noted as much as I could to make it easier. You can just put it on your head and style it that way and use regular hair spray but the best way to do it would be what I described above Some people do use PVA glue on their wigs instead of Got2B glued so if you got that knocking around thats an option (but it does leave the wig shiny :S)
