Photographer Uploads
Now I know that we have stuff here but I tried so hard to be persistent and resize all the photos and then upload them, but honestly I can't be doing it to all of my Hi-Res Stuff

and there's so many other photographs I took of Amazing Cosplayers that I'd like to tag in from CI.

Is it possible to increase the bandwidth Upload Capacity for Photographs in the Photographers Albums and make them more...Easier to upload?

I understand this is a difficult thing to ask, so if it isn't then I'm not particularily fussed, but it would be nice

There are a lot of changes we want to make to the galleries including a batch upload option, but these can only happen after a massive upgrade to the way the site works which is currently being tested, not something we can promise soon.

What we can do is to ramp the limit on gallery images up to 5mb. That's the highest we can push it before the next upgrade, but you should be able use much higher quality images now

Resizing everything does take time even in batch but given it's for web use and no one's going to see the image in a size any larger than their web browser it's a bit of a waste of space and bandwidth to upload any higher res.. plus you're relying on the server's (likely faster) resize algorithm rather than a nicer (slower) quality one..

Even for my site or dA I have a set of batch scripts that use ImageMagick and churn out 1800x watermarked images that're still overkill for a site like this, and they don't really get any bigger than 600k.. Although it's a pain to explain how to set that sort of thing up to people XD It's still a crazy handy set of tools (that and jhead) for digital photographers.

Tagging is already in there but the cosplayer has to tag themselves I believe? and yes, batch uploads would be nice, but as far as I can tell that's down to the underlying system rather than a simple change!

Alas another problem that can't be solved unless you used DBMS and batch method XML stuff like Flickr. But it's a work in progress and I think you guys already have a plan for it, but to satisfy my own curiosity, I asked the question

^_^ thanks guys

P.S. I already saw the tag thug Nert a While ago and I wanted to tag people in it ^_^
