Music.
Yeah.

So what music/bands are you guys into?

Inspired by my latest LJ post. Who knew there were Morrissey fans amoungst us.

Primarily I'm a rock girl at heart. I kinda grew up on it, my Mum loves Queen. I say rock loosely, as I like most of the subgenres (indie, alternative, etc), though not so much Emo..core. Or whatever it's called.

So yeah. <3 The Smiths and Morrissey.

Punk Pop makes me nostalgic, (old) Sum 41, Green Day, Blink.

Put Absolution on by Muse and give me some booze at any party and I'm happy.

Play something loud, obscure and thrashing and I'm away. November coming fire. Yep. Live is always better.

I like singing along to The Bravery, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party when I'm playing Singstar rocks.

Mwahh.

Ahhh Musics!

I tend to be all over the place, I am not a fan of a single genre but rather certain bands or sounds.

At the moment I am listening to Foxxi MisQ, Japans Destiny Child! XD

The one genre I do adore though is hair metal! Hehehe, anything from Whitesnake to Bon Jovi, KISS, or similar. I love any soft rock or cheesy rock, none of these young chaps in tight jeans! I need mullets, and solos and denim vests with bandanas!

But yes, 80's pop also rocks! Actually, anything cheesy and happy!

I love happy music!

.. are you ever actually on MSN or do you just lurk around here? ;]

I'd say I don't stick within genres, but it'd be a lie. I try to listen to other stuff but.. ~~ ;_;

I like Johnny Cash. That's country! But mostly just because of his rendition of Hurt. >_>

Oh God. Bon Jovi? My friend Sebastian loves Bon Jovi. He tries to convince me they're not a hair band anymore. I'm like, whatever. xD

But I do like Queen so I'm no better.

11 Sep 2007 - 04:53405
I'm at work! ;_;

Bon Jovi is cheesy awesome. I don't care what people say, new Bon Jovi doesn't exist! Long live mullets and cowboy boots!

\,,/ (^-^) \,,/

I've only recently gotten into new stuff, but I am still pretty horrible for getting into things. It's only because of a band called AAA that I got into Japanese music!

Oh I see.. wait, how the Hell do you get away with being online at work?!

Also my friend says to say you're silly because Bon Jovi wears tight jeans all the time. :]

Also: I don't listen to much new nowadays. I'm getting old, I think! It takes a lot to make me listen to something new.

11 Sep 2007 - 05:07409
There is a difference with Bon Jovis tight jeans, he wears tight blue denim jeans with shredding and stuff. Emoes and similar wear black tight jeans. Also, Cowboy boots with tight jeans = win, anything else = lose.

I work as a Forum Moderator for an online game, so generally I am online 24-7.
They stopped us using LJ because we all used it so much, so instead I just sit on the forums and watching my gmail XD

It's pretty dead atm, so not much to do. Gooo night shift!

I go through musical phases (generally involving the 80s or 90s, best decades musically ever..) but I guess I could say my all-time favourites are: the Goo Goo Dolls, Fountains of Wayne, Cyndi Lauper, Nik Kershaw and Bowling for Soup. All for different reasons.

Then there's all the other musicians and bands I worship, like New Order and Spandau Ballet and suchlike, but they fall into other catergories, they're not my favourites. I'll listen to anything at least once, though, so I'm always getting new favourites/tastes, and they generally change a few times every month depending on what I find/get addicted to.

Also, Morrissey is win - I grew up listening to the Smiths, lol.

Yay! xD Morrissey is love. <3

My love of music is fairly diverse. To be honest I reckon that anything with a decent amount of bass is love. I am also a fan of cheesy oldies and classic 80/90's songs e.g the final countdown by europe, living on a prayer by bon jovi and the one and only by chesney hawkes (i know him yay) which is why I LOVED the AMV disco so much at amecon.

As for modern stuff Im a big fan of linkin park, disturbed, cascada, 3 doors down, fall out boy and the killers etc so its diverse.

As for J rock/pop I have a few I like including AI Otsuka, Gackt, High and mighty colors and Hyde Its hard to get hold of stuff which is why this only seems like the main bands most think of.

My wonderful other half has just got me High and Mighty Colour's latest two albums. They did the 2nd (I think) opening for Bleach and Pride which was used in Gundam Seed. The lead singer has such an amazing voice.

I generally likes the metal (never have too much metal), and Offspring, Greenday, Muse. I really like System of A Down. I listen to a lot of soundtracks from anime (the background music to Hack//Sign is awsome, even if the anime was meh).

Also realy like The Mouldy Peaches, a pair of unsigned stoners, with one album recorded probably in someone's basement. There's a track on there that's probably one of my favourite songs, but I can't listen to it much because it makes me cry.

19 Nov 2007 - 05:021086
God, I love The Smiths. I was at a bar in Manchester this WE and they started playing 'Big Mouth'! I really wanted to get up and dance but my friends wouldn't move, booo...

Haha, the Mouldy Peaches, haven't heard that name mentioned in years!

Other than that I'm definitely an indie-rock. girl at heart, been going to gigs since I was a teenager. My favourite bands are pretty obscure ~ Urusei Yatsura, Bis, Dolly, Angelica, Jeff Buckley and Guitar Vader to name a few. I like some popular bands like Feeder, Placebo or the Foos too.

I also love female singers with a good voice e.g. Bjork, Hikki, Tori Amos...

I love most kinds of music... My main interest right now though is Jpop/Jrock... My favourite artist/bands would probably be Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne [older albums], Linkin Park, Lost Prophets, Ayumi Hamasaki, L'arc~en~ciel, Aya Hirano, Orange Range, and HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR.

I don't particulary like RnB, Hip Hop, Rap or any of them =/... but otherwise I like most ^^... Even classical music which is odd for someone my age XD... Though I've grown up playing the piano and violin and my parents listen to classical so I kinda grew up with it XD

Also I'm a major fan of 90s pop XDDD... Especially S Club! XDDD Steps rocked too XD!

I also like metal... though not TOO heavy like Slipknot... I like Trivium though =D... Slipknot I find is pretty simular to rap... No melody! Only instead of speaking with rhythm they scream/shout with rhythm... Which is why I don't like really heavy metal xP

At the moment I'm listening to Encounter on the FFVII: Crisis Core OST ^^

Lol I've blabbed on for way too long now! I could go on though xP

I have SUCH a vast range.

My I-Pod ranges from Cradle of Filth to songs from Disney, from High School Musical musical to Nightwish ^_^

I've got quite varied tastes. Right now I'm loving Nightwish's new album.

There's also another band I'm quite fond of, that's Project 37. They're sounding pretty basic at the moment, but their last recording was back in April and they have improved vastly since then.

Project 37's Myspace

In case anyone can't tell...I'm the vocalist and guitarist LOL Sorry for the crappy recordings, but we're saving the higher quality stuff for the CD we'll be releasing this year ^_^'

It's good, but not my kind of music. Well, it is in places, but not in others...

If that makes sense... I like Death's Kiss of the ones with vocals.

Particularly the backing (don't get me wrong, I just prefer listening to instrumentals and soundtracks etc).

And I like the non-vocals tracks (again, sorry, I just prefer listening to instruments)

My only critic is that they seem a bit repetitive in places.

Music I listen to;

Bowie, Queen.

Soundtracks

Instrumentals

Classical

Japanese musicians (since I don't know the language, the lyrics become part of the instruments and I tune them out)

I don't really care really just as long as the musical talent is good.
