If you could find a reference picture then people are more likely to help you out.

Im no ff fan but i did a google search and found this guy

is that the right costume?

If it is you should be able to buy a jacket pattern (instructions) from John Lewis, Hobby Craft or any other local sewing/craft suppliers.

Patterns are great as all you need to do is measure your self according to the pattern instructions pick a size that best suits you cut out the template pieces for your size and sew them together according to the pattern.

Ive used the same jacket pattern for almost all of my costumes http://www.burdafashion.com/en/Patterns/Main_Collection/8135_Jacket/1270778-1128998-1003846-1249980.html.

Its suitable from Bleach Captain Jackets to waist coats and formal ware and as far as patterns go its fairly easy to follow.

Because they can sometimes make no sense at all if you want to pm me about it at any point you can

Good luck and happy Cosplaying

If as you've said you've never made a costume before I would recommend you don't even try to make it from scratch unless you know someone who can sew well (a friend who won't mind helping you out for days and days or your mum). I would suggest you customise. Get your hands on a trench coat to customise, get a plain waistcoat and sew or glue on the white bits and get a pair of black combats. Remember you can dye fabrics and dylon do a fabric stripper that'll lighten fabrics so you can dye it a different colour! Good luck!

It seems pretty simple....though you may want to ask people for help if you're making it from scratch,

Shirt:

Seems simple just get a black shirt of yours and sow some cut grey fabric to the size and shape you need it,

Coat thing;
Try finding a pattern for something similar to the matrix and make it grey and cut some red fabric on the shoulders of the right shape

Others;
leather gloves - Just go to claires and get a normal dog tag and just make the chain the size you need on your neck - the belt seems easy to find - Black baggy jeans and some sort of boot or squareish shoe

Hope it helps - I don't know the character so the colours and stuff might be wrong since I just goggle imaged it all ^^;;

Hey there SpikeSteve, I know you from other events. I do costume commissions on occasion (I mainly do corset commissions). I might be willing to do something.
