This is a great idea. Sadly, as I'm based in manchester I live no where near any of you.

I can sing reasonable well. I'm better suited to male voices as I've sung the lead for 'Phanthom of the Oprea'.

I do play various insruments as well. Mainly drums.

PM'd but I just wanted to say, I've always wanted to sing a big choir arrangement of this.

(vocals kick in around 0.49)

can i come in late and beg to be allowed to join? (been over working recently and not had time to go on the computer T_T)
i know quite a few places to get anime sheet music and i can sing mid-alto to high soprano.

Cyeah Hex, if you didn't join I would have personally slaughtered you, your singing voice is beautiful.

Listened to the song, it's absolutely beautiful. With another potential to add in a progressive mid-alto line, will need a few more soprano singers for it (tenors could just take the sop. line down an octave+ ). I think it's one we should definitely think of tackling 8D

Happy New Year, choir!

I've been looking into the rates of rehearsal rooms in London. It's hard to find one with a piano, so there's a probability I'll have to lug my keyboards around. I'm also not great at understanding websites and stuff, so I could be reading these wrong, lmao.

http://www.westbournerehearsals.com/rates.htm

Studio 1 or 2 could be suitable, it also offers additional piano hire, I haven't looked into the rates of that but if it makes it too expensive then I can bring my keyboard.

http://www.useyourears.co.uk/music-services/music-rehearsal-rooms/resident.htm

Studio one has a baby grand piano with it, and is big enough for a decent sized choir. At the moment I think it's a possible 8 people, I'd really like to bump that number up at tad. But if we use this studio for 4 hours, with 8 people, it's only £6.75 each.

Ok, now we just need to sort out a rehearsal date.
I'm probably poor for the rest of the month, don't know about you lot.

Our first rehearsal could be last week of Jan, or within the first two weeks of Feb? Depends on when people are free or not, my whole half term is booked up unfortunately due to a trip to see my brother and midlands.

What weekend (prolly a Sat?) is best for you guys?

---

Edit: Also, anyone who has any sheet music (piano or vocal) for Fake Wings could they e-mail it to me? My hotmail has been bugged recently and keeps deleting stuff :C

Thanks. I haven't sang for a while though so it might be a bit rough.

I used to sing Gospal. >W<
Honestly, with a little bit of practice I could probably sing like I used to with gospal. :3 -Had a solo once in front of 1000 people. D:-

Needs more Mother/Earthbound- Eight Melodies. 8D

Only problem for me though is lack of being near anywhere.
I may head up to London for cosmeets every now and then. :3
I could learn and practice here though? -Then bombard you when I see everyone whenever I come up to London- xD

O_O PLEASE LET ME JOIN IN!

I class as a Basso Profundo when singing apparently.

Basso Profundo - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6WpD2Cspn6g&feature=channel_page

(Although I'm about half an octave above his top notes, which is still FAR below normal bass XD

This is about my normal range - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HIffb8jf3CA&feature=related (NOT ME!!!)

Think the bottom notes on the "Griffin Chorus Liliam - Elfen Lied and that's my "top" octave)

I've also been trained to conduct if that helps (but my bass clef is a bit rusty, I help out conducting in our Brass band XD)

I'm not certain I can come though... It depends on when it is as London is a looooooooong expensive journey from here >_<

-sparkly eyes- A basso profundo? I've always wanted to hear one of those live! No one in my school can really dip into the lower bass apart from a music teacher and lanky haired curly boy 8)

Of course you will have to attain your notes, i could help you roughly and maybe tell you if you are pitched correctly but I've never dealt with such a low range before~

Where d'ya live abouts? You wouldn't have to come to the monthly rehearsals if it was so expensive, I would say I could hear your progress over skype but I think my computer would explode, it doesn't deal well with that.

And conducting would be so incredibly useful, the most I've conducted is a small recorder group, I'm ok with teaching lines, but conducting is probably a no-go if I wanted keep whatever dignity I have left remaining.

I'm a Horbrarian XD (Horbury - But I live on a narrowboat on Horbury canal... It would take about 4 months to get to London via canal XD)

It's about £45 for the cheapest ticket to London (return) >_>

Do you have msn? I'll send you a recording XD

I'd love to join in with something like this too if I could make it!

I'm not trained and I've only really sung in choirs for school xmas productions (hahaha~ nostalgia~), but I'm a fairly decent singer or so I'm told

Also love the idea of singing Soramimi Cake! As well as One Winged Angel, Cruel Angel's Thesis, and anything else really! :3

Yes, yes, we need more people!

And my msn is:

We still need to decide on a first rehearsal date, though ¬_¬''

I've been having a few thoughts on some of the music suggested...

It's quite simple to get a choral aspect / range out of most of them, the only problem that we would face would be transposing them to the right key / writing the actuall music XD ( The one thing I can't do >_> )

Most of the music suggested is quite low, and seeing as our majority will be female singers we might have to change a few chords about (but that's no trouble XD)

Other than that, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to do a solo... UNLESS you had a VERY loud singer who can hold a tone / note above the entire choir and audience noise (It's still possible though! ^^)

Other than that I'm happy to sing / conduct. I'll work on what I can teach on singing & techniques and try and improve myself XD

Hey, have a listen to this:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YHk3LqUp51A
(Yuki Kajiura and Emily Bindinger perform Fake Wings at Anime Expo 2003)

That violin part could potentially be a soprano descant. I've half transcribed it already. Do you want me to continue? Will only do so if you're definitely going to perform it.
