My favourite time was in the car back from expo, I was cosplaying Ran from Shugo Chara (with a waay too bright pink wig), CrystalNeko was Miki with a biiiiiig hat, we got stuck in traffic right next to a bus stop, where there was this guy waiting(for a bus i presume...). I don't know why, but we figured it'd be funsies to just stare at him until he noticed. He met our eyes for a few seconds, looked down, did about a quadrouple take, then looked down REALLY akwardly XD

I guess its normally just waving at people (especially in London traffic) while wearing cosplay, and watching their reactions. And sometimes you get really cool people who are like woooow or you get grumpy old men and women who give you scary-ful evils XD

Lesson learned- Be wary of ticket men.

When my sister and I were making our way to a meet as Reborn and Jumpsuit Lambo we were waiting for our train to get to the place and the ticket man came over to us from the other platform because 'he thought one of us forgot our tickects' and he was interested in our costumes

He pulled at my goggles lightly and said 'Whats this for?' then let go.. making the goggles snap back onto my head xDD (Incase it sounds bad- It didn't harm me nor did he intend to) Reborn and I were laughing afterward considering the character I was usually gets bullied (Comicly of course ^^; ) He said I looked like I escaped form prision! xD (Wearing an orange jumpsuit I'm not really surprized :3)

And last year in Augest I was with a group of friends in Manchester (I was jumpsuit Lambo again) and as we walked past a group of gothic people one of the girls came over shouting 'Omg you're ORANGE!! You are amazing you remind me of my wife!!' (And something about myspace >w>; )

I asked her if she would like a hug which seemed to make her beam happily. Despite being a bit worried at the time (Since it loked like her and her friends had been drinking) I was very flattered and found the moment very funny ^w^

My husband was dressed as Prof. William Wordsworth (Trinity Blood) as we walked in a group from a photoshoot in Southampton this weekend. He of course, had a pipe and a metal-tipped walking stick on him. There were a crowd of kids in town who were absolutely flabbergasted at the four of us (in epic Toribura costumes), but two of them were willing to do ANYTHING for the pipe. They were like, "Dude, how much do you want for that pipe? I'll pay you anything!! You can have my leather jacket!!" The Professor just smiled and said, "Hmm, thank you my man, but I like this pipe very much. I think I'll keep it." And as we continued back to the hotel, they were like, "Aw man, he has a walking stick too! Frickin' awesome..."

XD

The pipe only cost me £4 from eBay, could have made a sneaky profit XD

I was sitting in McDonald's in my Chun Li costume on Sunday and there was a little kid - five or six years old, maybe - walking back and forth next to my table, staring at me in what I took to be a mixture of confusion and outright terror.

Bless.

This past year at Ohayocon a bible convention was booked for the same weekend. Some of the very straight laced people shooed their children far away from us. By the end of the weekend a Buddy Christ cosplayer was asked to join the bible convention!

Here's a video related to this topic taken at kitacon when we wandered into northampton in cosplay. XD It's not so much abuse as we being surprised they knew what anime WAS! Also an old lady flees from us at the end...XDD

I was in work, which is where I do most of my costume making and I was trying on my costume when a customer and his son walked in and started asking if there was anyone in. (I work at quite the empty lan cafe, this is why I get away with so much shit.)

He looked around for awhile before he noticed my arm waving at him, covered in paint, through a companion cube box. Apparantly his son got the reference, and I just got some odd looks from his dad.

i was on my way to expo in october and i had my coat on so all you could see of my cosplay was my tights, shoes and wig and i was getting my ticket at the station in my town, where only like 3 peopleknow what cosplay is (i think half of them think japan is some kind of take-away) and some random dropping his partner off yellede out his window "ENJOY EXPO!!!!"
i was like.... O.o woah.

lol.

also that same morning at waterloo i got stared down by a little girl who then turned to her mum and said really loudly "Why is she dressed funny??"
ah children. ¬_¬

this year i have to wear my entire outfit up to expo.
the wig is too delicate to not, and the dress is all one piece. and i don't fancy sticking legwarmers to my legs on the way. so yeah. >w<
all good fun. i'm gonna get some odd looks. still gotta figure out how to stay warm. XD

Not a cosplay thing but that reminded me of when I had pink hair. This little girl on the train was staring and grinning at me for ages, then looked up at her mum and said "Mummy that lady has pink haaaaiiir!" she was cute XD Very observant child.

Also in my local dr's waiting room, sitting there minding my own business when some brat in her pj's with her mum had been staring at me from the moment I walked in, whispered (very loudly) to her mum "Her hair's silly" and "I think it's a wig" ...well then...
*only had short pink hair, that's it! Nothing crazy!*
XD

My best memory was when i went to a manga night at my local waterstones last novemeber dressed as lucy (elfen lied) my friends were dressed a predator and the green one from invader zim ( i dont watch it)

While out on the street in the front of waterstones we kept attracting random charvs that didnt have a clue who any of us were but wanted to have photos taken with us even tho they didnt know what a predator was or who i was.

What a bunch of noobs

Ahaha gotta love the norms.

Last year at xmas time me and a few friends were in Milton Keynes doing a causual cosplay to meet up with a other friends. I was minding my own business trying to get a picture of said friends on a carousel and some old man 60-70 I reckon, came up to me while I was in my Axel wig and goes to me. "Oh darling you have lovely hair, bet that takes you ages to do in the morning" I was just like uhmm thanks and slowly shifted away, embarrassed.

I also have the run ins with chavs questioning and laughing at costumes.
