Cosplayers Magazine
I'm thinking of starting a monthly free online magazine with things like cosplay and like minded people meets not just the big events but events organized all over the UK by individuals, various tutorials game/anime reviews featured cosplayer etc.

Would anyone want to help and submit an article, artwork for the cover featured artwork and cosplays, tutorials and such?

Cosplay!!!!!
I'd love to help and write articles! Im part of the cosplay group HCLA Brigade based in Nottingham. We used to only attend Midlands but now we go to London and other cons such as J-con! Our group would be able to update the Nottinghamshire area on cosplay meets and events!

I know Char is starting to do professional shoots now so i could write some articles based on that! We also buy cosplays sooo much! Something i would like is a list of sites that sell excellent quality costumes as cheap as possible! You could also do this for accesories, contact lenses, fabrics, etc.

Lauren xoxo

I would like to help ^^
I do reviews for OtakuTv9, not sure if they are up to your standard or not but here is my recent one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsm9rCrdEdE&feature=results_main

I'd definitely be interested in reading =)

I'd be interested in it :3

Another nice touch would be a list of active UK commissioners, be it props, wigs or costumes. Google searches brings up mostly US commissioners, which makes it really hard for the UK cosplayers to get a good amount of quotes to compare.

I'd be interested in having an article and being on the list of commissioners for this mag. I own a Cypberpunk clothing and accessories business and take commisson work from anything from basic armour construction to full cosplay outfits

I'll have pages free for advertising too if anybody wants to do so. I have the first week in August off so would be cool if I had a couple of things to start piecing together.

If anybody can help with I'd like to make a list of local shops for all the regions wherever you go to buy materials fabrics etc for any of your projects.

Tutorials on anything cosplay, jewellery making, plushies, photoshop drawing anything would be appreciated.

Trying to make something for the whole cosplay community.

I know someone who will be really interested in that - especially if they're from anime recipes

Do you have a plan, or is this an amalgam of good will?

I'm not being mean here, though it might sound like it, I'm just curious to see if there's any structure.

There's many things, but I don't see anything isolating what's unique or the certain clincher that makes this take off. If it's just for fun then that's okay, just be prepared for it to fizzle out rapidly. If you want it to really be something, make a project you need a business plan. Nothing scary, just something that is a reviewed and realistic set of targets that gets you where you want to be.

Such as
- Build fanbase
- Acquire specialist assistance/offers/information
- Do something no-one has done before
- Maintain relationships with the cosplay base

Etc etc

Those targets then have methods to do those.

The cosplay community is really hit and miss, often you'll find wonderful people and other times you'll find attention seeking wonderfags who only care about photoshoots and looking good rather than getting involved. For every person you find that cares about what you do there's 100 that don't and 20 that are opposed to it for any number of self rightious/infatuated reasons.

One of the things you need to do is rally support of the influential cosplayers/characters; these individuals may not be the popular ones but people sure as hell listen when they speak. Get them on board with your idea and that's half your work done.

Thanks for the advice. I've got a bit of idea and structure going on but it's also for a bit of fun and just to try and bring people together and a place to get some helpful information.

I'm not too stressed if it doesn't take off it's not meant to make money
