Hey guys, I'm new here! I'm planning a Teen Titans Starfire cosplay for London MCM October this year... And I have no idea whatsoever where to start! ^^'
This is the first cosplay I've ever attempted to make myself, so do any of you experienced folk out there know any tips and tricks? Advice is much appreciated!

A lot will depend on your sewing skills. If you have never made anything like this before it might be an easier introduction to costume making if you can find something which already exists that you could modify, eg buy a cheap purple dress which you can cut in half and turn into the matching top and mini. Then add the details like collar, broach etc.

If you are really keen on making it all from scratch I would advise use some existing clothes which look the right shape and fit on you and use these to copy the fabric shapes to cut out. Then buy your fabric and get sewing.

One tip is to search other peoples costumes ..people who have made the same or similar costume - some journals have great progress pics and construction tips which can give you ideas.

I will make one reccomdnendation that alot of starfires I know do, instead of colouring your skin, wear a coloured lycra bodysuit and just paint your face, not only will it save you painting your whole body but it will be much warmer in oct.
