To begin with, a lot of my cosplays just used to actually be my clothes. And in some cases like my Matroyuska Rin, I still wear them as clothes without the accessories/wigs. Like others have said, white shirts/black trousers, etc. are often part of more than one costume.

I try and rewear all of or at least most of a cosplay to more than one con, lots of elements of old cosplays get remade and/or cannibalised into new cosplays. Or as I said before, worn as actual clothing. A good example being my Lisa Garland cosplay, where I've never used the same hat more than once; the first hat was made of paper, the second card and interfacing, the third better quality interfacing and it was then turned into a Love Coloured Ward hat. The cardigan used to get worn all the time, but it's gone out now due to being really manky.

My more recent cosplays that don't fit and are of decent enough quality to sell have been or are waiting to be sold or have been given to friends who'll get use out of them. It seems a shame for them to hang about my wardrobe doing nothing when they could be getting worn and leaving me more space to store newer cosplays.

Sometimes I'll even be forced to bin certain elements of a costume if they're too damaged to salvage, but that doesn't happen very often. I've been cosplaying since I was 17 and I'm a totally different size than I was back then, so many of my old costumes wouldn't fit me anymore even if I hadn't sold them, recycled them or given them away. Tbh, my weight fluctuates so much due to my Salicylate Intolerance and stupid boobs that I'm often a different size in the space of the same week, let alone by the time con season rolls around next year. lol.

I actually only have two cosplays that are my own. That's Lulu from FFX and my Silent Hill 2 nurse. I actually just started putting my cosplays in totes. I got a huge one for lulu in which i can store everything and then a really small one for my nurse cosplay since...well..there's not as much to it XD. I put all my makeup with each costume in a plastic bag that way it's all together and i dont forget anything. It also makes storage neater AND i know where it all is lol. I dont usually give anything of mine away and sadly it sits in storage way too long. I'll be going to two conventions next year so they won't be in the closet as long. I feel so guilty just having em chill there all year lol ;3;

Well I've only even done two costumes - my current WIP Sif, which I'll probably keep because no-one else will want it for a start and the armour is rubbish - and a cat girl outfit I wore maybe twice, which got lost when I moved houses years back.

Neither are (were) wonderful quality, so I wouldn't get any money for them. I'd rather keep Sif safe in a cupboard and bring her out on Halloween or something.

I keep mine too, I have issues with parting with things..

I find that those vaccuum bags are really handy for storing bulky but not delicate parts of cosplays (like big poofy underskirts that can be popped out a couple of days before wearing to poof back out), and they slide really easily under my bed. All my little things are in boxes on top of my wardrobe.

Luckily I haven't made a cosplay yet that is hard to store, I can't imagine things staying like that for much longer!

I keep most of mine. I have three or so that I plan to remake because I didn't like them or they got too damaged after I partied too hard in them XS But yes I keep them. The wigs all live together in a massive wig box but the bags have what costume they were used for written on them so I can find them easier than the costumes that don't contain normal clothes are bagged up and again on the bag I write all the pieces that are in the bag and what it's for. This is purely to prevent cosplay taking over my room like it usually does XD

If I really can't rewear for whatever reason I do try to recycle the aspects from the cosplay. Oh all the military kit from my cosplays live in a massive dump box of kit for when I airsoft so I can get to it easily but as mentioned previously I don't tend to throw them away and I don't think my sewing is good enough to sell so I hoard and hope a group will one day come up for me to use the cosplay again

I vacuum pack my cosplays away and put them in a box at the bottom of my wardrobe. Though sometimes I find elements can be used again and recycled . I find it difficult to part with my cosplays also- they leave happy memories

I keep mine and usually re-wear them. If I don't like them then I usually stuff them into the bottom of my wardrobe or make them into something else. Although some of them are getting too small for me now so I'm considering selling them.

I keep them, and wear them again.
However, if they get too big or small i sell them, then remake them if i want to be the character again. Or if it is a school uniform, and there is multiple characters i keep it for that reason. I be every character i can until i get bored. XD

Sometimes I sell them, sometimes they are one wear and ruined once I take them off, sometimes I keep them. I still have my Frank the Rabbit mask from Donnie Darko, even though I don;t own the fursuit any more.
