Hey i'm also new to the site and to Cosplay itself! I may be living in Brighton for the time being, but i'm from Upper Heyford, tiny little village just outside of Oxford Do you go to many events? I've only been to ones in and around London, don't know much about things going on around Oxford?

This year was my first year at the Birmingham MCM expo. I am trying to attend more events as time passes, I do believe we have a cosplay group here in oxford every other month. I know they have a facebook site, but I haven't checked in awhile. Yes, I would love to say hello if you guys are at any conventions

Dont know about you but I always felt a bit nervous to do it in oxford... there's a real mix between welcoming people and those who are... less so to alternative people? I still spend half my life there but I dunno I feel much more comfortable to try cosplay in public in Brighton.

I feel that too. I remember returning from birmingham with some anime props I had bought at that convention and found people throwing remarks at me. The bigger cities are definately more comforting in that regard.

i really wanted to go to the may expo in cosplay rather than get changed there, cost there's always a chance some guys are gonna make problems for you. Just think it would ruin the day! What I might start doing is waiting till I get on the final train there and get changed; by then half the train is full of Co players

I've also considered that or change at the bathrooms at the station. what do you cosplay as mostly?

Welcome to the forums! I guess it's not always easy going out in public in cosplay, but don't let other people put you off!

my first one was Lucien la chance of the dark brotherhood in the elder scrolls games. Also got this awesome Leon one from Res I 4 which I'm really proud of - I had to take scissors to a 300 quid leather jacket to get it right! Never mind cosplay, I used to actively live in L's from death notes outfit for a good year or so when I was heavily into it XD How about your good self?

I've lived in Oxfordshire for 20 years and only in the recent year I managed to find cosplayers that meet up at Yo Sushi in Oxford at the end of every month on a Friday.

However I dont know if this is still running ... Anyway Welcome to Cosplay Island ^^

Yes, I have hacked up many clothes to fashion something similar to cosplay. in ode of sacrifice to the cosplay gods I am currently interested in Uchiha Sasuke and in future Ciel Phantomhive. I used to do Kira from death note when I was younger in a more casual cosplay

Ah yes Stacy, I have seen them once leaving. I will look into it, it would be nice if they are still going! otherwise, once I fashion a costume I create another

Welcome! well, there isnt much going on that I am aware of. I have been meaning to see if the one meet up is still going at yo-sushi. Otherwise, I am trying to get my friends, who are anime fans as well, to cosplay

We watch anime together from time to time and always welcome fellow geeks
