Costume Adjustments
So, I bought a costume off eBay (yes, cheating, I know), and most of it fits totally fine, but the shoulders on the overcoat are slightly too wide, and I'd ideally like the waistline on the overcoat and the waistcoat to be a little more tailored and give a more feminine look. As it is, I look rather rectangular in it.

Unfortunately I haven't got the first idea where to start and I really don't want to start mucking around with it and ruin the whole thing!

So... any advice on how to adjust shoulder width and fit jackets/waistcoats would be greatly appreciated!

Do you mind if you post images of it?? And how you look in it?

I just work better visually.

Not at all! It'll be Monday when I get back from Expo though - thank you!

To take it in at the waist, turn it inside out and pin it in on the sides (where the original seams are) then sew it!
