I'm going to a con as Harley Quinn (if you don't know who she is, see below) :




I wanted to skip the cowl. She does this sometimes, and has blonde pigtails. Mine, however, are bright pinkish-red. Would it be too inaccurate of me to just go with my own hair if the rest of my costume is spectacular?

I'd love to be the most accurate, but I look about ten times better without the cowl and would feel a lot better/have more fun not being self conscious. What do you think?

While I love the hair colour and style, I'd suggest if you're not going for the cowl, then you need to really get the blonde wig and go for the pigtailed look.

(Besides, Harley is hella cute when she's rocking the pigtails ^_^)

I'd say that you just have to decide how much accuracy you're willing to forfeit.
Lots of people may just think you're some alternate version, as the costume would make you instantly recognisable. However, if you're going specifically for the blonde version, it might be an idea to get a wig or similar - but don't let what people say stop you from wearing the costume however you'll have most fun in it

It's better to have the wig and not use it than not have it when you want it.

As soon as you wear that costume you may think "... Shoulda got the wig.." and that's a horrible thing to go through, always having that nagging thought at the back of your head.

It shouldn't cost much anyway, and pigtails are hot, and incredibly awesome on Harley.

Agreed - even just to avoid that feeling on the day you might get that its just not quite rocking it Harley style without a wig.

But then, its optional. Cosplay isn't just about accuracy- if you're not too fussed, then go without the wig

To the responses saying I should just get the wig-- I totally agree. I did. I got one that looked really nice online and came... kind of gross. xD And my con is the day after tomorrow, so I don't have time to order another.

I think I'll bring the cowl just in case (maybe attach it to my back so it looks like the kind of hood you just slip off) and wear my own hair in pigtails.

In the Arkham City download content (Harley Quinn's revenge), she has dark hair.

First of all I gotta say your face and smirk is just right out of the comic/cartoon! it would be a crime *loljk* not to get either a cowl or a wig! but tbh I dont think it would be to bad to use your own hair
