... when telling your friends you can't afford to go out at the weekend, they reply 'which character are you working on this time then?' or 'how much have you spent on this one?'

when you see something that makes you think of something from one of your favourite animes( etc ^^ ) and you fan spazz so much you scare people around you, OR are quiet about it, but outside you're beaming, and inside you're having a massive fan spazz xD

Happened with me and paintedapples11 in Sheffield~
we saw a shop with the american flag, japanese flag, and british flag, and it made us think of those three in Hetalia >D we be fangirls of those 3 together<3
But other things happen all the time aswell xD

And oh god, I can agree with most of these things XD;

- When you have to remind yourself that while asking to take photos of people wearing cool costumes is perfectly acceptable in cons, the same doesn't apply to random people on the street.

- When a family member is throwing out some of their old clothes, and they've barely made it past their bedroom door before you pounce on the potential new fabric. ;^^

- When you try wearing your more normal-looking cosplays around town just to see if you can get away with it. (As long as you remove the gloves first, and possibly the bandanna, Team Aqua works quite well!)

- When you see students from your old school wandering around in their new uniform design and you wished that you had the excuse to get one too ( I used to hate my school uniform but I actually like the latest one ).

when you plan how your gonna spend your pay on cosplay items before you get it!

When your mum is throwing away old clothes, yet your looking through them first making sure there isn't anything usable out of them >_>;;;

You spot someone with brightly dyed hair on the street, and get all excited and go closer to see what there cosplaying, then realize the sad truth..

when even though you hate your job, you sign up for extra hours just to pay for your next cosplay, even when you've spent all of last months pay cheque on the other 3 you're currently working on...

I keep doing this, I've got too many in progress but still this week while doing my extra hours at work, I've been trying to figure out how hard one of my dream cosplays would actually be to make XD

When your wardrobe of "normal" gear is ever so slightly shrinking due to selling it for cosplay funds.. and... whilst one wardrobe gets smaller... the other (more important) cosplay wardrobe gets bigger and bigger and bigger xD

Even when you have no money, you find yourself browsing Ebay for wigs, costumes or things for making costumes!

Nearly every room in your house has something to do with cosplay, costume making or anything like that in it!

when you go out of your way to think about the next cosplay your doing.
And as someones already said getting all excited when you see someone with bright hair + getting extra hours in the work you HATE to get more money for cosplay stuff /derp

When you stock pile loads of fabric and potential Cosplay materials cause you know when it comes to you making that one important Cosplay for your next event you'd be broke from making your previous Cosplay.

I've had this ever since I started Cosplaying in 2008. The most recent event of this tis with the fabric for my Black Waltz Hat & The main fabric for the coat.

Also when you don't care how many injuries you inflict upon yourself through the making process of your Cosplay.
I feel that I haven't learnt much from a Cosplay unless I've suffered some kind of pin prick or (the more common) hot glue burn to teach meself not to use a certain method of construction. Won't stop me from using the same ouchful methods but it means I treat it with more respect nxt time round LMAO XD

When you find pins and sewing needles in the most unusual places.

I've found em in the carpet, in the pockets of trousers that have been put through the wash and in a fabric head band I usually wear around my wrist whilst sewing as a make-shift pin holder.

When you get extremley excited when there is a sale at the fabric shop. i spent nearly two hours in one yesterday buying everything that I might use for future cosplays, just because of the sale XD

... when you lie awake at night unable to sleep constantly thinking about how to piece together the 'problem' areas of your cosplay ¬¬ ...

- When you have to resist from asking people for a hug or photo when you've just recently been to a con.

- When cosplay becomes one of your daily conversations.

- When you have more cosplay then real clothes.

- when you have no money because you've spent it all on cosplay ..

When I have money my priorities are...

1. Cosplay/Saints Row the Third
2. Driving
3. Everything else

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME. SRSLY. Oh, and MW3, BF3, UC3, Mass Effect 3, pretty much everything with a 3 on the end.

When you own more wigs than socks.

You got more half finished cosplays than finished cosplays,

You get excited when a new wig arrives

You have a huge collection of different random objects or materials that could be useful for your cosplay

When you watch any good series or play a good game there's always character you can see yourself or your friends cosplay.

wow i couldent hv said it better .......... exactly what i would hv said - theres not a day thats gone past where i dont talk or think about cosplay ... AGREED its way to hard not to hug people after expo - iv failed at this lol XD and as said before finding pins in random places i keep finding them ^^
