Very true. When I met people for the first time at Amecon I thought they were fab. By Sunday it felt like I had known everyone for years. Defo my highlight for 2008.

half of the people i know don't even know me by my real name. i'm not sure some of them even KNOW my real name.....

Or when you're at a convention you start turning around when you hear people shouting your character name.

I've always been doing that.

...you have scars from either the glue gun or the sewing machine.

xD i don't have scars but i've had many sore finger tips! xD

tip: lick your fingers when you want to smooth out hot glue. it doesn't burn you then and the glue doesn't stick to you either. ^^

*twitch* I wish you had told me this before I got a glue gun last year XD
Knowing me though I'll still get burnt due to my stupidness 8D

Nice tip, I never thought of that. I only burn myself from the glue gun is by accidentally touching an area where I've heavily applied hot glue LOL.

I also know that rubbing your fingers together really quickly also works.

Back to topic. When you go to an event and you remember your cosplays but not your normal clothes or pjs.

You know you've been cosplaying to long when you incase someone in duct tape, then are suprised at the shocked reactions of said persons room mates.

This happened to me this weekend- we were making a duct tape dummy of Sophie for Tira, and some of the people who lived in the same floor as her knocked on the door. They then proceeded to be like "What are you doing?" "Wow that's so cool!" and take pictures.

Me and Matt were just like "meh, it's what we do"

You have to measure the inside of your car to make sure the cosplay will fit inside.

(I had to do that when I built Optimus Prime he barely fit)

Someone sets up a facebook account using your cosplay as his profile picture and then claims it’s his own cosplay. The person got kicked from facebook for doing that.

...you regularly tell your parents/roommates not to throw out cardboard/bottles/titbits because you may use them in the near future.

Adding to this;

You can barely move in your room due to foam/cardboard/plastic etc. that you're "saving" even though you might never use it!

I still have tons of foam and cardboard stacked in my garage. My lawn mower and chest frezer is lost in a sea of cardboard.

I have never seen any one here park there car in there garage. Not like my car could fit even if it was empty.

when the number of cosplays you own overtakes the number of normal outfits you have.
