Wow the group is really pulling together I just wanted to notify if we wanted it as a group thing I will only be at the LONDON MCM EXPO on the 27th October all day. I live so far away that I really cant afford to do all 3 days as it would cost me well over 100 pounds

This is exactly the same thing as me.

I didn't even enjoy the series that much, lol (bit too slow for me), but I adore the costumes so... Yeah. Takane just has my favourite costumes and is one of the characters I liked (Miki and Azusa being the two others)

Okay I've watched a few eps, for now I'd like to say that I wouldn't mind filling in as a spare twin (snowy pink) if that occurs, or even Haruka for the snowy pink outfits if that's ok? I think they're probably some of the only few that I can get away with pulling off.

I was thinking that if anyone was going to HyperJapan (I would be willing to do this for a day), the snowy outfits would be seasonal like Nixie mentioned before, but we could do anything if anybody wanted. It's not totally compulsory for all of the idols to take part from this thread if they're not comfortable with it - there would only be a need for three idols minimum for some dances. If we get more I already have some ideas on how we could set the dancers up. But again, that depends on the particular song as some have more than others.

Keep in mind that we wouldn't be able to practice together until the day, but I do know of groups that have accomplished this before. There's no pressure to do this, but I think it could be really fun!

Anyway, thats a lot of info to swallow so I'll let you idols think about it. If anyone decides to then we could talk about which costumes to wear/which song and generally just... produce and manage ourselves!

Ahaha, amusement. I know Catnip deffo wants to learn the dances, and I'm quite keen to too.

I think, dance wise, you can sometimes get away with just two (looking at youtube vids and such) but three would be best. From then, the more the merrier. So there would deffo be 3.

Also, regarding learning dances separately, as long as everyone knew which part they're doing, then it should be all fine. We could then practice together once we're at the convention (myself and catnip do the "lets arrive the day before" so if anyone else was to arrive then we could practice then).

I'm in two minds about doing as a performance (you mean, like, "Kita's Got Talent" and such, right?) but this is purely because I have stage fright. I might be alright in a group, and with a routine to focus on though.

I speak for myself and Catnip when I say we'd rather do a seasonal outfit. Not really bothered which, but we rarely get to go to conventions which allow us to do winter themed cosplays, so we're kinda using Hyper Japan for our "YEAH! SNOW THEMED STUFF!" lol

However, if the majority vote for another costume, then we can do them for the group ^_^

Aww, I'm glad to hear that you're both on board for this! I'm more than pleased to go with snow themed costumes too. Also I've done a fair bit of dancing which I've gotten awards for, so even if you and Catnip can learn it together I'll still feel confident. Stage fright is always a kick in the pants, even after you've done it for a while - but I'd be sure to look out for anyone with this problem. Just carry on like nothing has happened and go from there. More often than not it's barely noticeable to the audience. If you want me in front so I'm there as a guide then I'm fine with that too.

I've never been to HyperJapan but I'm assuming that they do have something like Kita's got talent/Omake/Masq performances?

Does anyone have any songs that they absolutely must do? I'm all for being adventurous but if some of us get stage fright it's easy to lose yourself in complex choreography - especially when there's eyes on you. So for now I'd like to recommend 'Go My Way' because it is a simple dance, easy to modify depending on numbers, and it is also rather iconic to the series, but I'm open to any other suggestions at all if someone has a burning desire to do a particular song.

Catnip's favourite song of all time since ever = Kiramekari. This is the one she really wants to do.

I'm pretty fond of Ready which is very in keeping with the anime as well lol. Also, this can be done with any amount of people.

Although - I don't want to be in the middle like Takane is here T-T

Incidentally, these are also the outfits I want to do But I'm game for pretty much any of them, as is Catnip, so if you'd rather do the Snowy Pink, I'll do Azusa from that. The second song is another one I like, Birthday. Also, with Rest@rt, I found this which will make it easier to learn the dance without the constant camera changes.

Sorry, lots of vids, lol. This all hinges on if Catnip can get a job though, otherwise she can't afford to go But still, we have a new store opening with lots of jobs, so I think she might.

With my stage fright, I'm only badly effected if I'm left to stew on it. What I'm worried about, is if the routine is too simple I'll start thinking on what the crowd is looking at and thinking, rather than concentrating on getting it right, this then causes me to mess up.

You'd think I'd be alright with the stage, being that I was in the school choir until I was 12, and I always had solos as I was the only one who could hit the really ridiculously high notes required for gospel and hymns and such.

If we are going for a wintery effect, my heart is pretty set for the snowwies, thought if there are any other sets of costumes if we choose an upbeat song, that's fine too.

Dont worry about the middle point, I dont mind doing it. I have a theory that the two at the sides tend to have more similar steps and a constant space between them. If you practice this together you will begin to sync and become familiar with each others steps (how far the person steps out to the side for example) Lemme know what you think of this because I honestly don't mind where I go, I just want to make it easier given that we're not together for most of the time. So if Catnip wants the front thats cool, and if someone else that joins us wants to, then thats fine too

One thing that I'd like to keep in mind while we prepare this is overheating. If we do a very active one, you run a few risks of fainting, getting uncomfortable and distracted, or even if you get a cold around that season it can leave you feeling pretty nasty.
You girls may be hardier than me, but I know for a fact before an event comes a callin' I'm usually hitting painkillers, tissues and olbas oil like they're meth - so everyone should look after themselves! I know I'm making it sound like a big deal, but getting up early, heading down to cosplay, wait in line with a lot of hot bodies and then performing (and stewing while you do that) is very taxing and tiring on the body - no one wants that.

So yeah, there's the boring nitty gritty stuff about costumes, and feel free to tell me to shut up! I worry too much about people XD Just wear what you are comfortable in. Heck, if people want to go for any of the lighter springy ones to match the song (when we decide) then that's fine so long as everyone is comfortable. I dont personally like to dress skimpy, and I know a few others don't. So its going to be a big game of give and take to keep people happy and comfortable for when this rolls around.
If Catnip cant make it, I dont mind putting the costume away and leaving its debut for something that we can do together, unless there are others that want to go on and do it.

sdfjlksa it's been my dreeeeeam to perform in a big group <3 I've performed the Shugo Chara dances on stage before, which is 3 people, but never in a big ass group so this would be my dream come true <3
I love most Jpop dances so am willing to learn just about anything!

Only problem with Hyper Japan is that they don't really allow skits unless you ask specifically like the Uta no Prince-sama dance group earlier this year. I mean obviously if you're entering the WCS/ECG prelims then yeah, you need a skit. But the only category is the COSParade and that's just a walk on walk off thing.

For earlier this year's HJ, the Saturday stage was pretty damn packed all day so that day might be difficult to ask special permission for. But the UtaPri group managed to perform on the Sunday so maybe you can ask for permission for then? Of course everything might be different for this year's HJ.

And I've totally been watching the wrong show, I still have yet to watch iDOLM@STER! Been watching AKB0048 (which I absolutely adore btw). I'm hoping to do a mass anime catch up after Ame, hah!

And yes, it would be easier for Catnip and I to do the two opposite one another, so we can practice it better. Those on mirrored sides do kinda need to be in sync more.

Costume and dance wise, I get what you mean. On the plus side, the winter costumes don't look that warm (with the exclusion of the santa girls lol, which looks like fleece would be the best option for them, and that doesn't make comfortable dancing). I don't know about Catnip, but I'm the sort who's usually cold most the time, so I generally fair alright at conventions as long as I've slept (I shall remind you of the 3 and a half days of no sleep before Kita, I was a bit out of it when I bumped into you lol).

If people would rather do a spring/lighter costume, we don't mind not doing seasonal ones, as said. We're also talking about doing the Vocaloid santa costumes, so we can get our winter fix with other things, it doesn't need to be for IdolM@ster

Also, I don't really like to dress Skimpy either. I rarely ever do female characters, and the skimpiest I've ever gone has been Anri in her school uniform, which isn't that skimpy tbh lol. So yeah, I get people don't like skimpy outfits.

I'll have a proper chat with Catnip about it. Currently just sending texts which doesn't really allow for a proper chatting. If people want to, I might make a UK IdolM@ster group on Facebook? It'll be easier to settle points and such that way, rather than waiting for people to reply on here.

I can do the same for AKB, but separate so it's easier to organise. When more people have expressed an interest for Love Live, I could do the same for that.

I've sent them a PM. It's a bit early, but it's better to arrange it and then cancel if it doesn't happen than arrange everything, learn the dances then not be able to perform (although, we could just perform for ourselves, film it and put it on Youtube )

Yeah, even if its not on stage we've got something out of it and had fun. It's better to know that we can do it rather than working ourselves up.

I'm all for getting a FB group up and running. It's definitely been useful in other groups for communication rather than backtracking through threads.
