I tried to block someone on here but couldn't find anywhere to do it. I had to wait for them to send me an abusive private message first as the block button shows up when you view a message.
Can the block button be moved or a second one placed on member's profiles or overviews so it is easier for people to stop unwanted messages and negative attention in general?

We can look into making this button easier to find, but as it only affects PMs it would be misleading to have the button anywhere other than the mail area. --- If anyone has problems with harassment or behavior on the site please let us know. You can find direct links to PM any of the CI staff here - http://www.cosplayisland.co.uk/about. Kat, Sean and myself are the best three to get hold of. |

This doesn't seem fair because a friend is being hasselled by someone but because that person comments in a (false) polite manner it will not be seen as abuse. However these comments are distressing and confusing my friend and she would like a way to prevent them. And I wouldn't want to start recieving them as well. |

I agree with Leonie Heartilly, the block should block that too. |

I never really had a problem myself with this but I have seen some degrading comments on other people's costumes in the past and no matter what site you go on to showcase art, cosplays or anything like that there WILL be people who would harass members. I'd find it more comforting to have a block option availible on my main pages so should myself or anyone else I know is getting harrased we can sort this out immediately. __________________ :3 |

We're working on a lot of improvements to the site and hope to extend the blocking to cover leaving comments and friending/watching, which will take some time. It is important to remember that while in some cases blocking will solve the problem, a persistant bully can make a new account to continue harassment. It is important to report incidents such as this to an admin so we can investigate and take appropriate action. |
