Hey! So I thought I would ask here if anyone had any experience with super long socks? I'm talking - school girl extremely thigh high socks? I just bought some but I'm worried about them rolling down or slipping during the day.

I've heard about Sock glue, I've also heard that it doesn't work that well and falls after natural movement, I'm not sure of what else to use? Is there even anything else to use? Or is there a sock glue brand someone has tried and has worked for a long period of time for them?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks x

I always wear flesh coloured tights under my socks, and have never had any trouble with the socks rolling down as of yet

I use sock glue myself so I can help.

The main thing is that you would have to take your time putting them on in order for them to dry properly to the skin. Make sure the top part is clean and avoid any errors first time as if you mess up your first time and try applying again then it wont hold up as effectively. It is worth getting an extra pair of socks for the costume in case it does happen.

I buy mine on ebay and I go for the brand that costs like £6. It lasts long and easier to put on due to the size of the roll on.

Basically, just take it slowly while putting them on, press them down firmly, wait for them to dry properly and you should be fine. Make sure when you put the glue on that the socks dont roll outwards. Then the socks should stay on all day!

I use sock glue on over the knee/thigh high socks and also on things like tops and my Rinoa arm-warmers. I find it works really well apart from after I had the glue a while and it wasn't sticking so well anymore, it has about a 12 month life after you open it so I just bought a new one.

I bought mine from ebay and it's called "Staysput". An Irish dance shop sells it as it's what the Irish dancers use to keep their socks up whilst dancing!

I use sock glue intended for Irish dancers and those suckers DID NOT come off after a day of dancing and walking around. In the end I had to rip them off me

Here is the product I use. just make sure the buyer has good reviews before buying. I had a look around first and these aren't the only seller online. It smells a bit strong when you first put it on but it fades very quickly. You're going to have a lot of fluff and residue left over afterwards but it comes off very quickly with a shower.

It won't damage the socks especially if they are a simple cotton/lycra mix. I have used this glue on other materials with no problems as well, it just washes off. I just might be cautious with things made from silk or satin perhaps.
