Fabric glue
Having a bit of a crisis and need some fabric glue QUICKLY

There seem to be quite a few brands/types out there. I'm near a big hobbycraft and they have an own-brand one on their site for 2.79...

Washing, etc, doesn't matter. It only needs to last a couple of hours and doesn't need to be removable.

Does anyone have any experience with any of the different brands? How long do they normally take to dry?

I have an iron if that'll speed it up...

Do you have a hot glue gun? If you dont care about whether its removable a glue gun should work just as good, or even double sided tape. I've never actually needed to use a proper branded fabric glue before because these work just fine

I've gotten away with using PVA glue if its just a short term problem, backed up by a little bit of taxing at the corners and edges.

I threw my glue gun away as it was terrible, I know it would work but it was far too much hassle. I think PVA might be a little messy but I'll try it if all else fails.

I'm going to hit Hobbycraft tomorrow to see what they have. I've taken a look and there seems to be something that works in a similar way to the glue on 'iron on' patches.

What exactly are you doing with it? Some materials are melted by glue.

And also depending on what you're doing, you could use wonder web

I'm doing various things, mostly attaching small embellishments to a skirt where safety pins/sewing isn't really going to look right.
I also need to attach a bit of lace to the underside of the skirt.

Oh, and some iron-on tape hasn't ironed on properly, but it's not the sort of stuff that can be sewn either

The wonderweb might work quite well, thank you

For the record, PVA glue did the job. The dress is a bit crispy, but as it's dried clear it doesn't matter.

I shall let you know only if it FAILS to hold!
