Of which cosplay to make, of course.

My problem is that I have a lengthy list of cosplay ideas, but I can't choose which to do.

And it keeps on growing.

So how do you guys decide on your cosplay when you have a lot of ideas?

Um, I write up a list of all the costume ideas I have and think about each in turn - logistics both of transporting and wearing the costume, which con they would fit best at, any groups set up for the same series (as group shots are fun!) and how much time there is available to make and to wear it... but most of all going through all these ideas like that, sometimes I hit on one which just makes me feel excited, and despite anything else thats generally the costume I end up doing!

At the moment I have a list of things I want to do and generally I pick one to work on at a time fairly randomly. There are a bunch of factors that are influencial though, how much time and resources I have is one of these. At the moment I'm quite busy with real life stuff, so I'm just working on my biggest project when I get free time. As cons get nearer I may switch to working on things for specific meets.

Mostly I just fall in love with a character and insantly want to cosplay them. Unfortunately, this means that cosplays that I've wanted to do for a long time just keep getting pushed back.

I'm usually highly infulenced by what my friends are doing. If I can match them, I probably will arrange my plans around that.

Wow, these are some pretty good points.

I'd do the group thing, but most of my ideas are from the same series... And none of my friends cosplay. :'( My cousins won't make theirs for themselves either.

Also, I can get really passionate about doing a character, but unfortunately that passion dwindles incredibly fast.

Example: I really wanted to do Rose, then the Condesce appeared, then I read a fanfic about Clover and wanted to cosplay him. (all are from Homestuck)

The idea gets as far as planning what I'd need to do, then it gets dropped...
