OC Cosplay
I'm attempting to do OC cosplay. Make my own character, but all my pictures so far just look like I'm being really vain about myself. Plus, they are all taken by me.

How can I improve this?

You dont really need to make two threads about the same thing. Just expand on your first thread in future.

People do OC's all the time, and it's not a bad thing. Its just that sometimes you have to get really creative so people don't just think that its someone just wearing things which look a little more obscure than usual, as I know con goers will sometimes wear steampunk, lolita and V-kei fashion. You may end up being grouped with them, so it really depends on how much of an impact you want to make ans if you want people to ask for photos.

Everyone cosplays for different reasons, but the main one is for fun. You could even just use it as a platform for trying out altering garments for yourself and identifying your strengths before you try any serious cosplay or try to look like another character. It's really up to you, and it is quite a common thing. Cosplayers will even make different 'versions' of a character, for example a formal Naruto character. Just have fun with it.

If you're worried your OC's look too similar to yourself, try using an interesting colour/style of wig, or even use prosthetics (elf ears are popular!) Make up used in different ways can always spice things up.
