Although the site itself gives the basics of what you should know, the forums would give you much more infomation such as places to eat, cosplay groups, packing list examples and experiences from past attendees I have been to Kita for the past 3 years and they keep getting bigger and better each year. The venue is located near the NEC which had places to eat such as buffets and a Subway if you didnt feel like eating hotel food. Nearby there is a lake and some trees which were splendid for photoshoots. As for some basic con tips: -Never be afraid to chat with people and ask for photos -Here is the link for some examples of packing lists -Always bring a camera or a camcorder -Make sure to bring glowsticks for the parties, which are held every evening -Check for other people that are cosplaying from the same series and perhaps get together for photoshoots -It can be easy to get separated from your group of friends, or you might split up at some point to try different things so ensure to get your friend's mobile numbers. -Panels are a excellent source of information, ranging from cosplay tips to martial arts, and all that jazz -Bring a emergency sewing kit -Make sure to eat well throughout. Breakfast and water/tea are your best friends! Also boosts immunity as I have had conflu a few times...and it sucked every time XD -You may make some new friends over the weekend so maybe bring a notebook for email addresses and other contact details Anything else you wanna know just let us know __________________ :3 Last edited by Aerblade (26 Feb 2012 - 00:56) |

If you can't say anything nice at all or be respectful of other members, then kindly GTFO. Funny, given how I'm currently looking for wedding dresses, I would never dream of clicking that link in your signature. You spoke in another thread to pm to be more professional, perhaps you should take your own advice? Consider your previous post reported as well. |

And definitely not a good way to advertise your business - people don't buy from who they don't like ^___^ |

Anyway. KITACCAWNNNNN Whatever you do, speak to people. Make friends, have fun and go with the flow. Glowsticks you can buy craploads of, but there'll always be idiots like me who drop £100 on enough flourescent goods to be seen from the 5th moon of jupiter. Don't worry too much about that lark, drop a few quid in poundland and you'll have enough stuff. Always load up on the breakfast, ALWAYS. Stuff some in your pockets and your bag, it's free! (if you're staying at the hilton) Don't think "I'll just stay in my room for a bit or chill at the bar" because there's usually so much on, it's always good to try new things. Though afternoon naps are lifesavers. Attend pre-kitacon meet ups! There's one in a week and a half in Birmingham. That'll have you meet a lot of people and feel better about knowing people before you get there. I'd offer to be your guide for the meet as the schedule is to break off into individual groups converging at several locations (there'll be in excess of 40 people so it's the only way), if you do decide to come to it. Almost everything you need to know will be explained at the con, and anything else can be solved by knowing the right people to ask; you can do this by getting to know more folks ;D __________________ http://starchildcoffee.blogspot.com Last edited by JaeXD (28 Feb 2012 - 17:28) |

I went WAAAAAAAAY overboard last year and spent far too much time putting them on only for most of them to be fallen off. Was fun giving them out to random people though __________________ :3 |

Let's keep this civil. __________________ CosplayIsland Staff Member |
