My Bad cosplay experience
It wasn't even at a con, It was a school. I was dressed up in a homemade LoZ Link costume (Ears included)Lots of people liked it some asked if i was Zelda, And Elf or even peter pan lol.
Anyway after school we have a halloween dance, starting around 8pm.
I didn't really have any friends in my school or who could come so I was alone, I joined a few classmates tho so it was fun.
But then someone slapped my butt, I swear i was ten shades of red (I was in grade 8, and hated being poked, hugged any contact really, so being slapped...)
I look around behind me and barley saw two girls giggling who ran off.
They were at least 2 or 3 years older.
This was at a school dance, No one else noticed, and I was embaressed for the rest of the night.

Then this year was alright. I cosplayed as Edward Elric (Someone asked me if i was michael Jackson, Because my automail was a glove with ducktape, but that was my fault.)
And someone came up to me and asked "Are you supposed to be Edward elric?!"
I said yes and they gave me a high five
Also my gym class mate kept asking to try on my jacket...

So not all cosplay experiances are bad, It just depends who your around, i think...

That's really many bad cosplay experiences for me. Don't know how to start, lol

Haven't really been cosplaying long enough to have had too many bad experiences (thankfully) but one recurring problem is high heels! The multitude of blisters I end up with at the end of the day are awful - I always have to bring a spare pair of shoes.
- My friends always find wigs slipping to be a bit of an issue too >.<

Not too bad
I haven't had many problems or bad experiences. But when I competed at a competition in midlands expo 2 yrs ago I forgot to hair grip my wig to my head and it kept falling off and I was doing the bad apple dance Haha so i kept having to holding my wig on Q.Q Ruined the dance only a little but it made me aware to remember to hair grip to my head next time haha ^^

Another thing is I was accidently grabbed and spun round by someone completely random XD Turned out he had mistaken me for a friend >///< but my skirt was flying everywhere and i was really embarassed ^^

Haha, I was at a local convention and saw my friend Cosplaying Poision Ivy and I've known her for years, everytime we see each other we usually hug and (for some reason) poke each others boobs and I saw "her" and went up to her and was all "heeeeyyy!" and Poked her boos.

Yeah it wasn't her. The girl never said anything though, she ws understanding or maybe she liked it :S Saw my actual friend later Cosplaying Mew xD

Unfortunately, I think that's the point. Glompers are ninja huggers that appear from nowhere and attack at full force, they are impossible to avoid

It's not really that bad but it annoyed me for the whole day, but at the London expo just gone, my first handmade cosplay (hanataro) Hakama were a really nightmare. The Hakama fell down on the train on the way to the expo (it was rather funny) and luckily I was wearing leggings underneath, but i ended up having to watch my cosplay the whole day, and having to adjust it after walking upstairs or before a photo or even after tripping up on the bottom of them.
I couldn't even sit down it them TT-TT I had to stand most of the day.

I have only been glomped by my friend luckily and they are usually quite gentle, Im kinda nervous now of glompers xD
I would probably end up crouching down on the floor with my hands over my head lol (it does work, I had a stampede of people run towards me at school once coz they were chasing someone, they just hoped straight over me).

These are all interesting stories, most of which seem to involve glompers xP

Ive been glomped once which was at my first Expo dressed as L, it was a bunch of screaming (Litterally screaming) fangirls. That was my first and so far only experience with glomps. It wasnt so bad that it broke anything but it was annoying and slightly painful.

And also, last May Expo, when I was walking over to the Excel in my Serah Cosplay, my leg bands (Or whatever they are called XD) kept falling down, I stopped like 6 times trying to pull them back up, so in the end I just took them off and stuffed them in my bag (This was before I even reached the Excel) so I never got a chance to show them off which was a bit of a bummer since they were one of the few accesories I had actually made from scratch for my cosplay and I was quite proud of them... meh oh well, I soon forgot about them by lunch time ^^;

Well, I cosplayed something from 'kuroko no basket' on a convention in germany last week....

So I had a basketball with me!Yo!

We were down on the riverside when 2 drunken idiots kicked the ball just down into the river !!!
*yupyup, sadly I was just a second too late!!!*

I yelled at them and looked at where the ball was drifting to.

Then I climbed down to the river and tried to get the ball out of the water again...xD
My friends were watching from the railing, I guess they were really worried....~

But the cosplay shooting was just one day after !!! So I had to get the ball out since I wanted to have
motion-pictures of this cosplay !!!

I had to use stones and other stuff I randomly found which I threw in the balls direction in order to make it drift towards the shore...back to me !!!~

And I succeeded ♥ I got my basketball out of the water
(and I didn't even have to jump in to get it out~)
*L U C K Y*

Thiis must be punished ~.....

edit: it happened in the evening, in addition it was way stormy (RAINING!!) and almost dark that day....xDDDDDDDDDD....

I don't normally cosplay at Expo when I do go but you guys have made me nervous about my Sif for this year!

I think I'd better try that corset on again just in case.

Oh, and glomping is rude and unnecessary. I've received and given tons of hugs during Expo, but it was with a pre-hug arm raise of 'Can I?' - not a running tackle into foam armour.

bad experience
MY BAD EXPERIENCE
after losing 208 pounds in weight, changing my life style, stopped being depressed. I started to go to show in cosplay as a way to collect for my son charity, raise awareness for his charity --Muscular Dystrophy-- and have fun. My wife made my costume ,family friends and workmates have donated things and helped out. When getting up at 3 am to travel to london by 9-10 am. After having my body waxed -make up done- false nails- the compleate outfit. including tights -girdle -and foam boobs. Traveling up dressed like this (raising money at the same time) I am told I have put no effort into the costume by some guy and girl dressed as dr who and rose.

Some people fit their costume, others dress as a character they like, others put there own spin on a costume. Enjoy the variety,
and for some of you when you go to say something, before you do, think if you could do it, ie instead of dressing as dr who- could you travel to the show dressed as supergirl and you female partner dressed as the joker or batman? Go on, I DARE you

PS i am a great doctor who fan, no disrespect to dr who

I think your awesome for going out and cosplaying for charity, and your right about enjoying the variety.
I believe that cosplaying should mostly be about having fun, not about being the perfect cosplayer ^^

I'm not sure if you mean bad experiences while cosplaying, or bad experiences with cosplay D:

Luckily, I have a few from both. ;w;''

There was the case of an Espada cosplay I'd made the day before the con [I actually did not sleep in order to make it, so I missed the second day of the convention in order to catch up with sleep... I travel to and from the con in question, though, so I didn't waste hotel funds or anything]
And it was so poorly made it sort of fell apart throughout the day. Quite embarrassing.

And a Crona cosplay I once did [was my very first cosplay], where I hadn't got a wig.
...well, I'd got a wig. It was bright pink and wasn't styled. So I left it off.
I won't be forgetting the shame of that entire convention in a hurry.

For bad experience while in cosplay, however, I once redid Crona with a proper wig and all. Looked pretty good, if I do say so myself.
Anyway, some person obviously loved Crona so much that they had to scream at me and jump on my back, to properly enforce their love for the character upon me.
I fell forward onto my knees on a stone floor. Ouch.

There was also the case of the time I was cosplaying Dr. Stein from Soul Eater and some random guy came up behind me, grabbed my chest [which was under binding, so at least had some protection, thank Christ], and did some kind of grinding move against my back. Think people trying to dance in a club, that was what it was like.

Another one was my time cosplaying China from Hetalia. I was standing around with the Hetalia group when this Undertaker cosplayer comes up to me.
I wasn't, and still am not, familiar with Black Butler, so I thought they were acting in character when they were growling at people and snapping, like a feral dog. They did some kind of snarl at me, so I tried to react in character [going "ah" or something and hiding behind my friend, who was Russia]. They seemed placated with this, and disappeared from my view.
Suddenly I felt this searing pain in my right shoulder, as this girl sank her teeth into my shoulder like a vice. My knees buckled with the pain, and I was slowly sinking to the ground while shouting at the pain. She let go and disappeared. She left this ring of spit on my shirt, and a bruise on my shoulder that stayed for a week.
Along with a scar shaped like a ring of teeth marks that is still on my shoulder. This happened in May of 2011.

I got creeped on once by a hambeast when I was cosplaying Nekozawa from Ouran. He kept calling me Neko-chan and perving on my friend group. I believe he tried to kiss one of the girls.
The funniest part was when he decided the only other boy in our group was a "baka", and was restricting him from the pick of the ladies. He said later he would "perform Naruto and Kakashi's combined taijutsu" on him.

I don't know, I just attract weeaboos...
