You might get lucky and pull in the local crowd. But I wouldn't hedge your bets, two weeks later it's Kitacon; one of the biggest events of the year.

If anyone can save money for Kitacon by not going to S-con, they will do so.

also there is the birmingham expo that is going on over the same weekend so people will be most likely going to that but ye some local people might be going to S-con but that may be about it

Hi there, yeah we kinda are aiming for those local to the lincolnshire area at the minute, and i know its near kitacon so i can full understand people preferring to go to that esp if they have a long way to travel etc.
We usually do really well with close to 200 fans that come to the recon events we have held in previous years so hopefully the extra things we have layed on will attract more people from places like Hull , sheffield and Doncaster. I know we have someone travelling from scotland down for it.
Thanks for the replies though guys
Also, Yes Frankie is our amazing mascot designer. Much love to her

Not to mention being two weeks after Minami-con, and a week after Sunnycon (which despite also being in it's first year has been announced for a lot longer and looks like it's getting it's local crowd so they won't likely travel down to Scunthorpe so soon after).

To be honest if it's been me I wouldn't have pick March/April for this event, doesn't give much time for planning and that part of the year has gotten rather clustered with events. Maybe November? Yes there's Auchinawa, but you might get more attendees who don't want to travel as far as Scotland from the more southerly parts of the country then, plus Auchi's attendance cap is lower than Kita's, Birmingham Comic Con's, and Sunnycon's.

S-con is taking place again April 7th 2013 but with a new venue. We are now At The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe a new Entertainment complex with Auditorium and meeting rooms.
Hope some of you might make it. You can find us on Facebook
