It would be epic if I had more Slayers cosplays to join me.

Depending on how much progress I make on other planned costumes, I might rewear Lina

Actually, I've had to drop Gourry. Just trying to go for cosplays I know I'll wear more then once and I'm not sure if I'll rewear him. So don't worry about it hun. Loved your Lina.

I'm all sorted for aya in reg/accom perspectives I think the next jib is travel. I think that i'll end up spending somewhere near £250 before even touching cosplay supplies this year.

I'm already tempted to scrap one of mine for this ear but that'll leave me out of the one group I've been wanting to do for six years T^T

I hate trains... I need to get my drivers licence sorted <.<

I'll be flying back for Ayacon. Will hopefully have a new cosplay for the event.

My fiance & I are all registered and are staying at the Premier Travel Inn. We'll be driving down from the North East, near Newcastle. Looking forward to seeing everybody there! <3

cant wait tho i prob need to make a new cosplay and i dont know if theres a ball or not

13 Jun 2009 - 19:4315805
See that's the thing, the lack of information about Aya's events doesn't fill me with 'joy'. I'm hoping there will be a party and a ball. Although it's sounds like a very large Minamicon at this point, which is fine but I guess I'm just expecting -more- from Ayacon.

I'm having the same worries! We're putting alot of trust in them right now! ^^;; Here's hoping they pull it out of the bag and make it a great con...

Scorchgid is still in panic tell me are all the rooms on site fully booked. I think it may just be time to call the old mum and dad, i haven't in a while and not doing anything else this summer

Well they haven't posted to say the rooms have run out, but they are a bit pants at keeping us updated with what's going on. They were gonna post cosplay guidelines weeks back and nothing ever came of it. Heck, I'm running a panel and I've had the grand total of two emails from them - I don't even know if I've been allotted the full timeslot that I requested. At least the Momoi Haruko news is something!

Wish they did what Fuyu are doing and had a little side blog with info so we weren't all completely in the dark.

well i would exspect there would be a ball but it may just turn into a disco or somthin tho i would kind of like it if they kept a dress code for a certain time and get to see a few cosplayers in ball gowns and suits.

guess i'll just have to see its a shame theres not much info to let people know whats going to be happening dosent leave much time to plan and prepare anything. thou im sure it will be loads of fun ^^ cant wait to see some of these epic cosplays people are workin on

I'm not an official spokesperson, but I'm pretty sure they're not doing an actual formal Ball. That's Amecon's big thing and Aya doesn't want to just be an Amecon clone.

We'll just have to keep an eye on the Ayacon events list for updates.

Yay, Ayacon! Much love for this, as I went to Warwick University ♥

Accommodation:
You may find this PDF useful, it was for a conference held at the University last year. Lots of hotels and guest houses and prices and contact details.

http://www.britishbirankai.com/files/2008-10-17-tkc-hotels.pdf

The B&Bs on Park Road are right near the Railway station. I've stayed at the Acacia many times in the past, they're good ^^

This time though, I'm staying at one of the Britannia hotels - their prices start at only £29 per ROOM per night if you book through them directly and pay well in advance. There are two branches - one is in the city centre (Britannia Coventry - good for people who need public transport, bus, taxis etc.) and one outside of the city, but near the A45 for easy access to the university (Britannia Coventry Hill - good for car drivers, free parking). Don't expect luxury, but yeah.

£58 for a double room weekend break = WIN

Woot! Thanks for the link Sonia. I'll look into that. Its most likely that I'll aim for onsite room mainly for Safer Seph. I just kinda need some of my friend sto be booked near me as I might need help getting into him and help around the event (I hope not to).

I still haven't sorted out the accommodation yet and I'm not sure what I'm doing. The biggest problem being that no one in our group can drive. Really worried now as I can't afford the on site.

Erm, don't know of any Manchester meet next thrus. Where is it and what time?

BOT, I may have to only do three days on site as my money woes aren't getting any better. Hopefully, I'll be sorted soon.

Definately going I can't wait seeing as I had to miss out on Expo. I also begrudge the £50 a night student accomadation. I usually go to a lovely industrial/EBM/cyber festival in Bradford every August bank holiday, and we use the Bradford students halls of residence which costs us £80 for the whole weekend, plus there are double rooms available for £100 for the whole weekend, so this being pretty darn simular, I can't see why the huge leap in price tags!!

Anyways, money grumbles out of the way, Im really darn excited!! Not quite decided on my final list of cosplays but Im pretty sure Ill be Zidane Tribal from FF IX (seeing as my hair is blonde once again YESSSSSSSSSSS) and main character from Persona 3. Not sure on who else yet (Im yet to finish main character, and even START on Zidane, so Id better get cracking!!!!
