I've now regd. All paid up. Now I've definatly got to decide about the accomadation. Its most likely onsite due to the akward nature of my Sat comp cosplay.

I think I gotta stay onsite I wanted initially then money then the fact I'm alone so makes no difference if I'm onsite or offsite cos prices would be the same if I'm alone lol plus own toilet is a win for sure

Looks like we'll be offsite most likely. Ame with a single bed was just stupid. Hopefully our friend will be coming with us so we can share the hotel and taxi costs.

can anyone tell me wot to expect as i have only ever been to expos and have been told con's are very diffrent?
and i will also not be staying in the onsite rooms... i cant affored £50 a nite myself am splitting a hotel between 4 ppl, makes it sooo much cheeper.

i will also be cosplaying deunan from appleseed on the sat still thinking of one for the sunday.

Just registered my friend and myself this evening! We'll be cosplaying as Medusa and Chrona from Soul Eater (more wig-styling, woot!). Don't have any other cosplay plans right now but things can (and probably will) change

I'm definately going, dunno about cosplays tho. So far I have Tsunade, Madara, chibi Itachi, the Hunter and HinaIchigo, I haven't decided which to wear at Aya and which to take to Fuyu.
I have no clue what I'm going to do about accomodation. If I'm going to stay at a hotel I want one that's close to the con and have some cosplayers there ^^;

I suggest you stay on site since all the hotels are far from the con >_<

Is there really no where near by? I'm having terrible trouble trying to find somewhere to stay that's even vaguely close. Even if it's not in walking distance at least it'll make the taxi ride shorter.

It's a bit annoying that the committee aren't more helpful with offsite options, most other cons at least give you an idea of what's around which is always helpful if you've never been before. I understand they want people to stay onside, but there's not enough rooms and I would personally prefer to spend the weekend being able to share a room with my fiance.

Accomm issue aside I'm really looking forward to Aya. Got all our costumes planned and have started making them. :3

Yes the room thing is annoying me too...I NEED somewhere close by because one of the days i'll have to change 3 times. ^^;; Not good if you're walking over a mile each time really! I might just have to give in and buy an expensive on site room. ><

theres a few hotels but they look to be far away if u googlemap the postcode of the con and "hotel" so unless u want to walk for ages or taxi everywhere......youre kinds stuck ^^;
£50 a night is normal onsite accom and about the same price as a hotel room apart from onsite is "single person"

I know this sounds like a stupid question but... Does anyone know if there will be a cosplay ball at Ayacon?

Also, on the subject of hotels and taxis, find a hotel/guest house/b+b that a majority of cosplayers will be staying at and share taxi rides and split the fare between each person, it might make travelling to the con each day a bit cheaper.
