isn't it great when....
.... you have just about finished a project and you can list the things left to do on one hand?

i finished the "solid" parts to my Al today. the undersuit is all done and sorted, all that's left is for me to stitch the tunic and apply some fastenings to hold the leg armour in place (i.e. stick and sew velcro).

i feel so very unstressed!

I love that feeling! When you've done everything, and you just have a couple of easy things left.
Best feeling!

(related: so looking forward to seeing your Al. Progress shots on MCM Forums have been looking amazing!!)

Yes yes yes it is a lovely feeling!
Although I usually never get to that stage until the actual convention itself so I rarely experience the wonderful feeling! But it felt great when I finished my Miki cosplay 8D
[Although usually I get really lazy and never bother doing the easy little bits, that's why I couldn't finish my Sakura headband in time!]

I know that feeling it's just one of the things left for me will be the biggest pain in the ass; footwear.

Yes it is a great feeling. Not quite reached it yet though. Still have loads to do. I can see that my Trinity Blood costume will be going in complete. Mainly as just the roasry itself took an entire day to build!

I'm so often left doing finishing-off jobs in my hotel room at cons that I don't think I ever really get to that stage - or at least, I never feel or enjoy it ^_^

For me the best bit is when I've finished all the cutting out bits and can actually start running things through my sewing machine. The cutting-out stage is easily the most tedious part of cosplay for me.

nah, cutting out pattern pieces is the worst part. that comes a close second though. XD

I love that feeling, the only thing i have left on baby peach is the wig....
but when ever i finish a cosplay i always feel really sad because i have nothing to occupy my free time. XD it's the same when i finish a book i've really enjoyed. i always feel really sad.

guess it's my fault that i work super fast i guess...

I love that feeling! Like Sephirayne though I'm definitely not near that point. T.T Only just bought the material yesterday for expo costumes. DX
I always seem to get to the final stage far too late than I'd like, no doubt I'll be putting the final touches to something on the night before.

Cutting out pattern pieces and cutting out bits of fabric all merge together into one big sea of tedium in my mind XD

Same here. Its my least favourtite bit. I can put off making costumes for days until I've built up the engery to all the cutting out. We call in our house 'carpet olympics'.

I hate cutting out patterns which aren't mine.

I hate the stupid tissue of death, and I hate the way I never have enough floor space.

Also, my costumes are never done until the last minute. I hate this, but I can't get myself to work any other way.

Nonono, the worst thing is when you've printed a pattern off the internet and you have fifteen sheets of A4 to trim the borders off and sellotape together before you can even START cutting out the pattern X_X

But oh yes, the feeling that a cosplay is actually nearly finished (and genuinely nearly finished as opposed to being so close for days on end but encountering lots of unexpected setbacks!) That has to be one of the best feelings

But like Hexi said, the sad feeling you get when you've finished a cosplay and have nothing to occupy your time? That's one of the suckiest. Isn't it strange how when you've actually finished a costume that satisfaction negates all the stress you ever had while making it/wearing it around the con and making sure the bits don't fall off?

I guess that's why we still carry on XD
