I have been to a fair few Midland Expos over the years and I have to agree that Midlands is defiantly one of the more relaxed and friendly events I go to. I find the atmosphere alot friendlier than London and it just feels more welcoming.

Don't worry everyone You'll be fine. I agree that its a good idea for you guys to meet Im shy too but its always very fun meeting new people.

err can i be a loner too? im coming on my own! by train, to get to telford you have to change at birmingham newstreet so maybe we could all meet there and get the train to telford together?

I have to change at Birmingham newstreet too.
What time are you going to get there???

To the lovely people arriving by train who are not sure where to go, don't worry.
There is always a huge number of people arriving by train and so once you get to Telford just follow all the people in costume. If you get lost then you get lost together and it's lots of fun...and yes we've done that before...

Midlands has a really relaxed feel and it's easy to make friends. It seems to be happening already...

Well I'll be asking my parent's tonight if I can go, and if I can go; will you guys take one or two 14 year olds in your not so lonesome group? I'll be seeing if my friend can come too and it'll be our expo. My friend won't be cosplaying (she has no cosplay's apart from a SeeU wig) but I'll be cosplaying Rin Kagamine.

Yay! Thanks! It's just that it's mine and my friends first expo and we would have no idea on what to do or where to go. My original friend I was going to take (the one with the SeeU wig) said she that even though she was a fan of anime and whatnot, she was usually very busy and didn't exactly want to go. But I found another friend who would really love to come with me. She's a year younger than me and even though she won't be in cosplay, she'll be wearing her Miku wig she got for christmas. I must ask my parents if we can go... Time is ticking. I have created a powerpoint and hopefully they'll say yes (I've also added the bribary of keeping my room tidy all year and that's a big commitment for me. My room is normally labled the Pit of Despair. )

dandan - I think im most likely getting a train earlier than everyone else so im up for meeting closer to the expo ^_^ closer to the time a few of us could swap numbers?

shadowstar - Ah I hope your mum says yes! I love that your doing a powerpoint!
I think my fave thing about being an 'Adult' is being able to just pick up and go! (I use adult loosely.. and im going off to dress as a cartoon character :])

Ah also, Im no longer cosplaying Ariel, thanks to a *ahem* struggle to fit into my tail after an indulgent christmas Ill be there as Yuna instead! x

I'm hoping she does too. I think if my parents do say yes, they'd like to meet you all first so that they know who I'll be with and know that they can trust you guys. It's nothing personal, just internet safety. If you're going to meet someone you've met online, bring a parent or guardian. I'm pretty sure they can trust you guys though. I've put a lot of effort into this powerpoint, so my parents should say yes (though my mum usually makes the decisions. She's 'The Boss' as my dad puts it)

hey =)

can my friend and i join too? it will be her first expo and i'm usually too shy to talk to people when i go so i think being part of a group would be really good, we're not cosplaying but i wish i was going as a final fantasy character because the guy who made it is going. I'm so getting him to sign my echoes of time box.

Welcome to the not so lonely group ^_^ You could always try a closet cosplay? Thats what I did for my first one, I was so paranoid I would turn up and everyone would be in normal clothes like it was some kind of conspiracy XD

My parents said yes! They're actually interested in the expo because it has the sci-fi stuff. So what would happen happen, is they'd come with me and my friend to meet you guys then allow us to go off with you lot while they have a look around themselves. I just have to be a good girl until the expo (I have a feeling that won't be hard. I'm normally a good girl)

Parents are coming up with me to explore Telford (but mainly for hotel reasons - over 18s rule...).
They're not going to be at the Expo so I'm happy to hear it's relaxed at the Telford Expo!
I'm probably not going to be in any group, but I'm sure you'll see me around in my Sasuke cosplay!

shadowstar - I went to the London Expo with my dad and that was a lot bigger than the Telford one. Now they let me go on my own to Expos (or they stay at the hotel)! I hope you and your parents enjoy your time at Expo!

Just so you all know, my parents are taking me and my friend by car and we hope to get there between 11 and 12. Also we need to pick a place for everyone to meet and is anyone getting the tickets in advance? Me and my family (plus my friend) are getting the tickets at the general opening time.

Shadowstar: In response to your questions:
I have never been to a Midlands Expo but I'm sure someone who knows the site better will be able to find a place for us to meet, talk and stuff.
YES! Buy your tickets online! I've already done so. I got them online and printed them out (best printer setting - remember!) for the London Expo.

Just over two weeks away! Can't wait. We really need to be talking things over about time, places, who's buying at normal time, who's buying in advance. We need to begin discussion people!

Edit: If I sound a bit rude, I apologise. I have just had orange juice and I am now on the equivalent of a five year old on a sugar rush. My friends and family call it an orange rush.
