What the title says, basically.

I plan on making a costume which will probably end up being pretty expensive...
So I thought I'd ask if any of you guys had any suggestions of ways to make money?

I mean, other than the obvious one of getting a job...
I'm still trying to find one.

Try selling stuff on ebay or the Market Place here.
I would try and have a clear out of your stuff; if you don't need something and its in good condition then sell it on.

Yeah selling stuff on ebay helps, also putting money aside each week, I make plushies and sell them on DA which usually helps with my funds

If you're good at sewing or general crafts, you could make things to sell on etsy

Paintings, Drawings, Crafts, Baking... I sell almost anything including doing costume commission work which helps with funds...

If you can make it you can sell it Other than that its the usual rummage through the wardrobe and see what you can sell via Ebay...

Get a piggy bank and put money in it and DO NOT open it under any circumstances other than to buy parts for your costume! And make a pact to put aside a certain sum of money each week, like £1 or £5, depending on how much the costume is going to cost you and when you're planning on starting construction.

Something on a similar line to this which I've found works well (when I remember!) is what I refer to as pound-a-day - obviously this depends on how much disposable cash you have but getting into the habit of putting aside a certain amount per day can help. Alternatively, nominate a specific coin (again, £1s are good though not if you need them for other things) and save every coin of that value you get. Soon adds up.

Otherwise pretty much what everyone else has said.

Yup, selling things is always a good idea. Also, if you are in a position to do so, you might want to do things like babysitting?

A lot of quick bucks kind of depend on your talents, if you're good at art you can do commissions, for instance.

I'll have to search really hard to find anything in good quality which I don't want to keep forever -my precioussss worthless items- to sell, but I'll try that.

I already do that. :3
I only let my self carry around £5 at any one time. And that's only for emergencies~

-though it doesn't help that i don't get money very often. :/-

I'll have to think about what skills I'm good enough with to sell on etsy and stuff.
But that's a pretty good idea too.
