Hey. :3
So I'm new here and I've yet to attend a Con. *gasp* Hopefully my first one will be London Anime Con in February 2012 or London MCM Expo in May 2012, if it returns!
I'm hoping to have my WIP C.C. Cosplay ready by February, May at the latest.

I don't know anyone in or around Hertfordshire that likes Anime let alone Cosplaying so it'd be nice to make some friends on here and arrange some meet-ups or something. That's about it really! If you wanna know anything about me, feel free to ask.

Nice to meet you. I'm hoping to do Cornelia at some point next year, so maybe I will run in to you at a meet!

Yay, nice to meet you too! I love Cornelia. It's even cooler that it's the same voice actor in the English Dub who does the voice of the Major in Ghost in the Shell: SAC.

*ears perk up*

Are you into voice actors too? Do I sense a Ghost in the Shell fan?

Answer yes and you totally go up a notch higher than most people in my book.

Yes! and Ghost in the Shell is my favourite film of all time. The SAC Anime is nothing in comparison though I still like it a hell of a lot.

You go up a notch higher in my book because of your BK201 Cosplay, kudos! I really love that show too.

Make that 2 notches.

These days it takes some cajonés to say you liked the original GITS movie. It was revolutionary in it's day and many contemporary anime fans find it strange and unpalletable. I could suggest many similar works that you would love made around that time and by the same animators, following similar themes if a little bit darker but still pretty damn awesome.

You must adore the musical works of Yoko Kanno. She's done the musical score of all the GITS works, and the soundtracks to SAC and Solid State Society are some of my favourite albums.

I'm glad you like my Hei. For the record I'm always on a lookout for a Yin, totally not scouting you or anything..

Yeah I find it more strange that people have strayed away from it, and Akira too. Disappointing. I still think it's amazing like Blade Runner, people find that unpalatable and I can't understand why. I won't get into all that though.

But yeah definitely, I've got stuff to watch atm but I'm always up for recommendations!

And of course I love Yoko, but she didn't do the original GitS film or GitS 2: Innocence. They were both done by Kenji Kawaii. But I really love her work with the SAC series and Solid State Society, I don't think anyone else could of done it right. My favourite albums also.

It'll be easy enough for me to put together Yin, it's just getting the money and that god damn wig! I'm totally gonna do her though, she's in my planned costumes.

You realise how hard it is for me to not kidnap you, and make you watch Parasite Dolls and AD Police?

I'm aware of how creepy that sounds, but good gravy I'm very very impressed by you ;D

And whaaay! A Yin!

You totally get first dibs on any cosplay collaboration you wanna do with anything I plan.

Haha I've seen Parasite Dolls! I love anything Cyberpunk so I'm downloading A.D. Police Files now.

It's not as creepy as some of the pictures of Hei and Yin I've found, trust me. o_O But at the same time they are awesome and I ship them to death!

Here's lots of Yins: click! I'm gonna watch some Darker than Black now, it's been a while!

I wasn't aware the original GitS had developed this stigma around it. For me I found it much stronger than the TV series.

I've noticed it a lot more recently myself.
I didn't even think they needed the TV series, I'm happy they done it but personally I could've lived without it. I love the films enough by themselves.

Do you have a somewhat over active obsession with Cyberdog too?

The Camden one is unbelievable. They thought I was kidding when I wanted to buy one of the dancers.

(Also you should probably know that I installed blue strobe LED on the inside of my Hei mask. So I looked like I was electric ;D I like my lighting effects)

Yeah that's the one I go to.
I just stood outside for ages trying to get a good picture of the huge silver Robot.
But everyone kept standing in the way god damn it.

I CAN'T CHOOSE A YIN COSTUME, THERE'S JUST SO MANY~
(But I updated the one on my profile, she's just so darn cute d'aww)

Your costume looks amazing btw, it won't let me comment until after 72 hours! *sigh*

There is a weird stigma around some of those original movies which is a shame. Got GITS, Akira and Ninja Scroll all for £5 not long ago and was chuffed as hell!

Hi, welcome to CosplayIsland ^_^ I'm SJ, one of the staff members here. You're gonna love it!

I'm glad to see there are still people like me that find them just as awesome.

Nice to meet you, thanks for the welcome.

You're from Herts?

Too bad, I moved from St Albans only a couple of months ago. Got to admit I haven't got into Anime despite the best efforts of my friends but if you want someone to go to some of the cons with let me know. I went to the October Expo from St A so it would be easy to travel together.
