I'm going to my first Convention Friday 28th October London Excell, I see lots of people that cosplay in groups of friends, make videos and all that. ;n; I get jealous.. I'm also cosplaying for the first time as Gakupo Kamui. None of my friends KNOW what cosplay is. Q~Q

Don't worry, many people didn't known who are vocaloid (but here in Italy we have TOO MUCH of it ^^"...I undersatnd you: have two years that me and my friends are trying to do a cosplay group but the result is always the same (nothing done)...so don't worry, will be the day that you will find something to do with your friends XD
(sorry for my english ^^"

Don't worry, its definitely possible to have a lot of fun at a convention even in a small group/ by yourself. I only got interested in anime when I started university and just started cosplaying a year or so back, so I really wish I'd gotten into it sooner.

Are you going with your friends? If so then its a good opportunity to show them some of the amazing costumes people make and how much fun it is. Otherwise I'd recommend taking a camera and getting lots of photos.

From Sussex here. Though you shouldn't really worry where the cosplayers you meet are from. You will make friends with people from all over the country, and even some abroad! It may make meeting up difficult, but when you do it is all the more fun because you can make up for lost time. And its great when people from far away are able to come and visit!
