Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. Haven't played much of the series but I have to say I enjoy it. Although some things seem to work when they want to... Damn this game is making me rage! I don't think any game ahs made me rage this much... What am I doing wrong here? |

Currently I'm working towards getting the Onyx medal for executions and curb stomps. More importantly executions, but curb stomps count towards it anyway so you might as well. XD |

Some of the gameplay took a bit of getting used to at first, especially since I had re-played Snake Eater shortly before which had so much focus on hiding in grass, under things and using camouflage. It just felt a bit strange that you're no longer able to crawl around or hide under trucks, though as I said I kinda got used to it. I really loved the song Heavens Divide, especially when it played during the helicopter battle. I've still got some of the Extra Ops missions left to unlock now that I've finished the main story.
Just gotta mention that I personally found a lot to like about SH: Downpour. It seems that it got something of a mixed reception ^^ |

It seems that it got something of a mixed reception ^^ There definately were some good points in the game, and it had sooo much potential BUT it just didnt have the creepy, good ol' Silent Hill atmosphere like the others had DX I think thats what put most people off... and possibly because some people were disapointed that Pyramid Head didnt make an appearence x3 (I was at least XDD) I supose its all down to personal preference though, BUT I did like the story and Murphy, and there were a few creepy moments... like the Hansel and Gretel Play scene... that crying still haunts me today XD __________________ ![]() |

I absolutely loved the Hansel and Gretel section, that was definitely my favourite puzzle in the entire game and one of the parts that impressed me the most In terms of critisim I'd say that most of the standard monster designs were pretty poor, I disliked the final area of the game for a few different reasons and that the game constantly overwrites itself with auto-save as you play which means no re-loading a previous save file to re-visit your favourite parts. I'm not sure that the lack of Pyramid Head would put most people off since I notice more people saying that he's becoming over-used and that different characters should be dealing with different monsters. I definitely think that Pyramid Head was awesome, but I really didn't expect him to turn up in Downpour so his absence wasn't an issue for me. The complaints that I've noticed the most seem to be that people don't expect to like it due it being not by Team Silent/not Japanese, that it has that Korn song in it and obviously the way that they messed up some of the monster designs. While I agree that the Korn song really doesn't fit Silent Hill you never actually hear it until the end credits roll or unless you leave the start menu on screen too long until it starts automatically playing the trailer, so that just seems a fairly trivial thing to me. Anyway, I enjoyed it for the story, exploration and side-quests, atmosphere and several of those WTF-moments that it had scattered through it. It's a shame about some of the monster design, but there was more about the game that I personally liked than disliked ^^ |
