Hey! i was just thinking that it would maybe be easier if you could have notifications when you have had a responce on a forum or when somebody adds a reply on their cosplay you can have a notification so you can see their reply without having to go back to their profile (yeah kinda like facebook i guess)

I asked this very same question when I joined Cosplay Island, the forums software is quite old and so doesn't natively support email notification and so the problem is that the forum software would need to be updated and the whole database of posts, users etc would need to be migrated to the new software.

As Cosplay Island is run by people for the people (aka volunteers) then it would be a huge ask to get someone to give up all their time to make the transition as seamlessly as possible for us the end users.

I'm sure if the majority of the users agreed that the current forum just gets stopped where it is and the new posts added to a new forum with there being a link to the old forum (maybe) we may get new forum software but it's totally up to the website people to do this. As this may not be something they want to do, which is totally up to them.

Short answer, not any time soon (I believe, someone may come correct me) BUT if we could maybe get comments to costumes as email notifications I would love you, Cosplay Island, forever

I would definately love it if this site had notifications! especially if people reply to your comment on any forum post

I was going to make a thread about this but saw there was one already started. I completely agree that it would be useful.

Its not as hard to track the comments on your own costumes as they show on your overview (or at least the most recent ones do) but after leaving a comment on someone else's costume the only way to know if they've responded is to go back and manually check.

I appreciate that not everyone wants to recieve E-mail notifications so perhaps there could be an option to sort the type you want to recieve like the comment notification customisation on Facebook's account settings.
