Heya!

I'm dressing up as Seras from Hellsing for Halloween, and I've run into a little snag.
I'd love to wear fangs to complete the costume, but I don't want to wear those awful hinged type that never fit anyone, leave your mouth sore, and make you drool everywhere.
I've tried wearing some cheap stick on with putty type bought from a local shop a few years ago, but the putty seemed to fail very quickly, necessitating a quick repair job with chewing gum and hope, lol.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, could anyone recommend a brand or type of fangs for me? They'd have to be able to stand up to a night on the town - I'll be drinking red wine and bloody marys, naturally.

I'm also hoping not to break the bank on this - whereas I'd love to have some of the custom built fang sets, they're a little out of my budget. Aiming for around the £5 / £10 mark?

The Scarecrow brand have never let me down - they looks great and they stay in until you pull them out - they're kind of like the putty type ones except the putty hardens to a mold of your teeth so that they fit you.

If you do it right, they wont fall out at all.

They tend to be a bit over your price mark though £20-£25, but you'll use them next year and the year after so it's pretty good value for money in my opinion!

While Scarecrows are probably the best brand out there, the only thing is that they are not recommended to use while eating or drinking due to the risk of swallowing them. Red wine can also stain the fangs.

It's not a problem though - they're easy enough to slip off and put in a pocket while you're eating

If you were wanting to spend a bit more time on it, and have a reasonable amount of skill, there is a good tutorial on how to make some custom fangs here

that's not a *bad* tutorial, but I'd do a dental cast, sculpt the teeth in oil clay, make a platinum silicone mould, then cast the teeth.

It's also worth knowing if you do make your own, dental cutting paste is a must to get that tooth "shine", buffing alone will just make the tooth rough and dull.

Lastly, BE VERY CAREFUL OF DENTAL ACRYLIC. It's quite vile in it's component state, so make sure you mix the powder and liquid together fully (pockets of catalyst can bleed out of the solid acrylic if you've left any), in a well ventilated area that people don't spend much time in (outdoors is best) and WEAR YOUR PPE (gloves, resp, etc).
