The films you have recently watched thread of threadyness
I like films .. at the cinema *looks at cineworld unlimited card* .... I abuse my cineworld card .. if it was a person it would be screaming alll the time.

So

What film have you watched recently and what did you think about it perhaps avoiding spoilers giving a general review?

I watched Fright Night last Thursday, it was amusing and nice enough acting but I did find the story a little bit too cheesy at points. I enjoyed it mostly but I mean I wouldn't of paid to see it normally.

3/5

Should be watching Kill List soon I hear it is good but not sure so will judge for myself.

I love films too, I don't really miss any of the new films that are out/coming soon.

P.S Planet of the Apes = Fookin' AWESOOOOOOME

Did you find Hanna a little pretentious at times .. like too art house for a story line that I didn't find involved enough to be allowed ot be art house!

Planet of the Apes is good, I watched it and then watched Cowboys and Aliens a couple of weeks back.

C&A = entertaining bollocks but viable to keep you entertained

Plant of the Apes = Well followed story with great acting and amazing monkey acting ;P ... if it does have a couple of so completely implausible points my ability to disbelieve was like .. NUH your on your own here.

The last film I watched was Showgirls. I was curious about how bad it was. The answer is, pretty damn bad. One of the worst films I've ever seen, in fact, and I've seen a LOT of bad films. Case in point: the last film I watched before that was a Canadian indie thing called Dark Rising. I only watched it because one of my favourite wrestlers was in it, and it was bobbins.

I actually can't remember the last good film I saw, thinking about it. That's worrying...

Nah, Joe Wright's films are like that, or tend to be a little weird. Similar to the weirdness of Quentin Tarantino, some people love his films and some hate them.

At first when Hanna started I was a bit like wtf, but as it went on, I became so engrossed in the film I couldn't pull my eyes away. Curiosity also pushed me to watch it 'till the end.

One film i'd recommend is The Next Three Days, if you haven't seen it that is. Amazing film imo.

I watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves last night. I love that film; Alan Rickman's performance more than makes up for Kevin Costner's dire attempt at an English accent.

Latest films I've watched were...

- Halloween part VI
Which was probably one of the best sequels so far, it was probably one of the most gorry ones as well. Left a lot of questions unanswered, though but I'm hoping they'll answer them in the next one.

9/10

- House Of Wax (Remake)
As a film it wasn't too bad, but it was VERY different to the original Vincent Price one. It had good special effects and a solid story, as well as a few good scares.

7/10

- Inazuma 11 The strongest team: Ogre Attacks!
Now this film wasn't bad, but it has to be said it could've been a LOT better. A good 80% of the film was basically just a recap of the Football Frontier arc with a few very minor changes etc. With ONE new match, which although it was a good match it didn't really make up for sitting through a condensed version of a whole story arc I've already watched. Also, I kind of think Zeus academy got really short changed (I mean seriously, is it even POSSIBLE to win 36-0?!) ah, anyway the new stuff was good but there was just too much recaps in it. D:

6/10

Movies I'm planning to watch

- The Legend is born: Ip Man
- Game Of Death
- A few others XD

I was really looking forward to seeing the inbetweeners... everything I've heard about it has been negative so I've not ran out to watch it.

I'm mainly seeing it for the sake of my friend, but I don't really know what it's about, I heard it's sad though.

It was alright. People said they laughed from begining to end, I didn't. It's basically like the show, the characters have some amazing jokes/comebacks etc but the film wasn't funny alllll the way through.

Unlike The Hangover ¬.¬

:O Someone else has heard of it!

I absolutely loved the first one, the second one not so much but it's a must see for martial arts fanatics!

I actually watched it because I do Wing Chun myself, so I was familiar with him and his story already. (Hate to say this to people but the film is highly fictionalised D

We have pictures of Ip Man in the Kwoon, and we also have a Family Tree as well, so my Sifu can trace his Teachers back to Ip Man! Pretty cool stuff. XD

Last night I watched American Pyscho. HA, BRILLIANT. Another great film from Christian Bale.

Seconded, that film is brilliant on so many levels.

I have a friend who loves horror films so I keep nagging her to watch it.

For his birthday, I bought my brother a shirt that says "Pierce & Pierce: Murders and Executions."

Hanna was super, really enjoyed that, mainly because I found the settings really interesting (that park with the Hansel and Gretel house for example). Lucky to have lived a short bus ride from a Picturehouse cinema for most of this year so I've seen some interesting films and shorts I would have missed out on otherwise.

I went to see Jane Eyre yesterday - I really enjoyed it, although it felt strange to be watching a period drama on the big screen. They focused on some of the more gothic/disturbing elements of the book and it's actually quite unsettling in places. Fassbender plays a superb Rochester and the character interactions are excellent and draw you in. Also bonus Judi Dench as Mrs. Fairfax

All up I'd give it a 4/5 for the quality of the setting and acting - but I think it's more of a buy-on-DVD than drop money on a cinema ticket for it. Like I say, it felt strange to see it on big screen, felt more like I should've watched it at home with a cuppa and some other girls so we can all enjoy Fassbender in a cravat (add him to the Looks Hot in a Cravat list, along with Colin Firth and Alan Rickman XD)

Looking forward to seeing Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy next week 8D
