Getting fabric paint out of material
Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a way to get fabric paint out of material. It's the dylon stuff. I haven't set it with the iron yet but it's black on yellow material. I was wondering if just sticking it in the washing machine would remove it all or would all the black paint just leak out staining the whole thing?

thanks in advance.

Tried this once... just sticking it in the washing machine made it run all over the place and stained the entire piece of fabric.

I'm afraid I don't have a solution for you - just a warning not to try that! The only thing I can think of is that white or surgical spirit might get it out, but I'm pretty sure you'll end up with a stain in that area.

Thanks for the reply. That's kinda what I thought the answer was going to be.

I might try and find some oxi stuff in a stick or something, it's not really really really bad, just some black patches in a few places. I might get some of that colour catcher stuff as well as it'll need to come out one way or another.

I've 'removed' acrylic paint from fabric with a wet cotton bud and careful scratching before, but it still leaves a faint mark. The same might work for un-set dylon.

you can try painting over it with another color
