I know I posted a tea/coffee thread. But that's somewhere lost.

It's been said that if Caffeine or Alcohol was found in the current age, it would be banned as a drug. And yet we go mental on this, consuming them like a legal high.

I've got to the point where I can't even function without tea or coffee. It's official, I have a caffiene dependancy. I'll purge myself later this year and see if I can reduce my dependancy, withdrawal symptoms are not very nice.

Anyone else out there who can't get by without a fix? We're talking tea, coffee, energy drinks, pro-plus, even chocolate has it (albeit not in huge quantities).

If I am working, DEFINITELY.

Tea and chocolate are a must for me almost daily!

It's generally a bad idea to be anywhere near me before I've had a cup of tea in the morning, so, yes, I'd say I'm somewhat dependent on it. The one day at uni I had to go without it I nearly bit the optician's head off. Friends were highly amused. Optician was not. I think I've got a little better since then, but it's probably unwise to test this theory.

I can go without caffeine.

Caffeine seems to have no effect on me what so ever XD; Maybe I've just never had enough to make me get addicted to it. ^^; I seem to have a strong will when it comes to stuff like that, If I want to stop doing something I can.

Yeah, I feel like this. 'Cept I've been drinking tea since I was in primary school. I generally don't feel any different, but I NEED my brew in the morning. A day would just feel empty if I didn't Dx

I can't go a single day without at least one cup of tea. Maybe it's the caffeine, or maybe it's the taste, but I feel moopy until I've had a cup of tea.

I start to get anxious if I don't have a can of Relentless, at least one, a day lol.

Sugar.
I don't care where it's from, I just need it.
Fruit, sweets, cake, drinks, anything.
I tend to get really on edge without it..

When we start getting into energy drinks, I can't drink the same brand more than twice. The effect just doesn't work.

I try to look out for the suitable for vegetarians note on energy drinks too, what with all the taurine hoohar.

At the moment i'm into the ones with ginseng and guarana, they seem to give a bit of an edge. I drink them when I'm driving for more than an hour or two. I've got a pack of KX from tescos in my car, they were on offer and they're ok. I'm gonna have to switch back to V soon, and then try something else afterwards.

wait energy drinks have animal products in them? Ugh (is a vegetarian) I've never had more than a sip though, I hate the taste of them.

When i wake up every morning feeling like resident evil, i just have to grab a coffee black two sugars .

Never used to be a lover of coffee but used to go crazy on energy drinks until i crashed big time on one which put me off.

Welllllll i've been assured that energy drinks use synthetic taurine. But I still look out for where it says suitable for veggies.

I'm not a veggie. I just don't want to consume organic taurine. Look it up.

fizzy drinks and some energy drinks make me hiccup for the whole day so I try and avoid them or drink little sips at a time lol

and I can live without tea and coffee. Yes I do love a cup of some once in a while but I can't drink it everyday like some people do!

Dr. Pepper. I cannot LIVE without the stuff. It keeps me awake when coffee doesn't. I'm addicted I think.

the taste of coffee has never been satisfying to me, i couldn't drink more than 2 sips. BUT i used to drink a lot of fizzy and general energy drinks.

I don't get any caffeine intake now, and it didn't affect me when i stopped drinking energy drinks.. lucky for me i guess since energy drinks were so expensive haha.

Dr Pepper is JOY. We always have a bottle in our house. XD

I'm pretty sure I was unofficially banned from drinking Dr. Pepper once.

Pro Plus barely has any effect on me, to be honest. I think I may have developed an immunity from the sheer amount I took when at university. Some days I am totally dependent on caffeine. When I cut it out of my diet, I randomly fall asleep (not even kidding...if I rest my head against the back of the sofa for even one minute, I'll wake up two hours later feeling like crap).

When I started working, I started drinking tea, and it was all I drank - but when you have a steady intake of caffeine you need the loo like all the time, not so useful when you're trying to do a hospital clinic XD So I switched to decaffeinated tea on recommendation from a friend - I didn't notice a difference in taste when I changed over, but if I ever have caffeinated tea now I really notice the taste of it in comparison to decaf. Also, now I no longer have much in the way of caffeine in my diet, having more than two cups of caffeinated tea does horrible things to me. I get really anxious and develop palpitations, and a weak feeling in my legs. I hate that feeling so I bring my own decaf teabags everywhere I go now!

Caffeine is strange, strange stuff.
