Okay, im getting so PISSED with age restrictions, im 14, but pass and think like a 16-20 year old, so why cant i get into con's ?!?!
its like, the lastest con in north hampton, its 16+ BUT WHY?!!?
AND ITS SO DAMN CLOSE TT_TT
does anyone else get pissed of with this to?

Your best bet is to go to the bigger, corporate events like London/Midlands Expo, LFCC and Collectormania. Using the same points we wrote in that thread:- There are a lot of immature, misbehaving people under 16 years. You may act/think like a 16-20, but that doesn't speak for the rest of your age group. They can't really make an exception for you, because then they'd have to let every person under 16 in as well. Insurance purposes. Speaks for itself. In all fairness, its frustrating, but it is also for your own good, especially if you are under 16 and not under the supervision / protection of a responsible adult. Not everyone at a convention has honest intentions, its not only insurance, but also for your own safety. So bare with it! It'll only be sweeter when you can finally sign up and attend ~! |

But it's also for the best. Places like Amecom have accomodation at the connvention, and you have to be of age to stay I think. But hey, the midlands and london expo's are more leniant. Ashe Joined: 21 Jun 2007 Posts: 46 | I got into anime when I was 13 so I had to go through this same thing, as did MANY others. There were conventions you can't go to but there is still Minami, the London and Midlands MCM Expos and Tokonatsu which don't have an age limit.

hush. The only thing I'm annoyed about is the fact Amecon is not happening next year, and I would have been friggen old enough! Maybe Aya will hold a ball. My first con was Minami 11 when I was 11/12, but I've managed to be satisfied with Expo ever since it started XD And sometimes it's not the convention organizers fault, for instant some buildings have age limits on them and so won't allow organiser to even think about insuring younger people. For the Grand International Cosplay Ball the building owners themselves have put an 18+ on it, the organizers could not have really done anything to push them down. But I think there was a discussion on the Expo Forums about the Cosplay ball being 16+ and if I remember rightly they are saying under 16's can go in with a responsible adult, that may not be true, things could have changed more, I'm not quite sure.
