Aw, sorry to hear that

I LOVE Rubi Moon and would love to cosplay her myself ^^ I think the most difficult thing for me would be the wings, and therefore would need a lot of help on that bit. I'm sorry to hear you and your mum didn't see eye to eye. Mums can only do there best, I'm afraid. And I'm sorry to hear about the wig too. But still, the wig in your cosplay pictures looked good

But when it boils down to it, if you yourself don't like the wig, no amount of nice comments can make you feel better about it. I had the same issue with my Megurine Luka wig. Luckily I managed to sell the damn thing. I was glad to see the back of it! X'D
Yeah, I think the wings were the difficult part, they were great to start off wiht, but then we folded them up to transport to Ame and couldn't get them back intot he right shape.
Indeed, but that was a long time ago (5 years ago, I think) and I'm far older and wiser now. I'm very lucky that it didn't put my mum off cosplays and we still enjoy conversations, and she's happy to give advice where needed, or an extra pair of hands when I don't have enough. The next one we worked on we pretty much split 50/50 and it remains one of my favourites, despite not being one of my best.
After not wearing/seeing the wig for 6 months, when I came back to try and fix it, I didn't hate it quite so much and decided that there wasn't anything I could fix without completely redoing the wig. I didn't hate it quite enough to redo it, but I didn't like it enough to actually be happy with it. A tricky middle ground.

glad you managed to banish your dreaded wig onto another victim

Out of mind, out of site, sometimes that's the best way to go.
Well~I wouldn't say 'banish onto another victim' It sounds a bit harsh! ROFL! I prefer...'Sold it to someone else that could appreciate it, or more tolerable with the wig than I was' X'D When I messaged them to see if they liked it or not, they were really happy with it, which I was really glad about ^^ The quality of the fibres were very good, but it was a liiiiiiittle bit too rough for my liking

I just noticed the way we're talking about wigs is that they're like animals that we need to get used to X'D

I havent had too much trouble in the past, but my current cosplays are getting a bit much...
My Switzerland wig no matter what I do to style it just makes me look like France...XD
My magikarp gijinka i'm hoping to debut in September, but I'm having trouble finding some fabric for the fins for a lusterous effect :/
And then theres my keyblade for Xion I'm hand making, no matter what I did to attach the handle to the pole part it just keeps falling off >_< I'm seriously thinking to invest in a hot glue gun now...
Aw bless! XD It's really annoying when wigs don't co-operate! As for the fabric, have you thought about organza over a plain cotton? It gives a nice shiny effect which somehow I think would suit the fins ^^ But I may be wrong. As for the keyblade, have you tried space foam? It's really light, but very good for carving. It would make sticking it to a pole a lot easier. Oh, and a hot glue gun is a good investment XD You can get good ones at Wilkinson.
Oh gosh!

Thank you!I will try to pop down Wilkinson or see online, for a reasonable price on the hot glue guns :3 LOL Organza...why didn't I think of that XD" I just want my fins to stand out a bit as I wave my arms about because so far it's looking pretty dull haha. Just needed to find something of a reasonable price, I think I know where to get some :] Thanks again! ^^
No prob ^^ If you have 'The Range' near you, they are likely to sell fabrics, IF (and this is a big if) they have a textiles department. Organza is usually a cheap fabric to go for ^^ but I must warn you, it frays like a b*tch, so make sure your sewing machine (if you have one) can finish the edges well ^^
