Big news! The UK will be joining the World Cosplay Summit in 2012!

Thw World Cosplay Summit is an international gathering of cosplayers, held annually in Nagoya, Japan and organised by TV Aichi. One team will be sent to Japan to represent the UK in the World Cosplay Summit Championship.


The WCS UK Preliminary will take place at:

HYPER JAPAN
Saturday 25th February 2012
Brompton Hall, Earls Court, London

Registration opens on January 6th and closes at 11:50pm on February 14th.

I know exactly what costume I'll be using. I've also been wondering when the UK would get to compete in the WCS. Loads of my french friends kept on asking me why the UK wasn't part of it.

Awww this is so awesome!!! I really wanted to do a big costume next year too but I dunno what I'd do exactly or who I'd cosplay with...

Big costumes are fab and all but what really counts is less about 'OMFG LOOK AT THAT BEJESUS WINGS ON THAT!' And more about 'wow the finish on this is AMAZING!'

The simplest of cosplays can win if they are executed well!
Either way it'd be nice to enter something. A;though i think i'm gunna keep trying for the comps at cons for a while before go anywhere near this! ^^'

This is fantastic news. I am excited for the UK cosplay community! I will definitely try and give it a go if my studies don't get in the way (although I have three costumes in mind) and if I can find someone to do it with!

. . . and everyone, don't feel you shouldn't because you feel that someone else is better than you. Every cosplay and cosplayer are unique. You do not need to worry about being compared to someone else, because it is just fantastic that you make the effort. Enter because you want to, and most of all it is all about enjoying the cosplay experience! I will admit, this is probably easier said than done.

Totally gonna go for this and i have the perfect outfit for the preliminaries (i can't spell xD)

I was actually going to make the suggestion a long time ago that the forum lacks an "LFG" style subforum. I've just been very busy.

The only sad thing really is that this is probably going to stop me from getting my Flammie ready for next year's EC =(

Unfortunately, I don't have a partner, nor do I have enough money to make an amazing cosplay, so there's no way I could ever get through =p

Great news that we're finally getting to take part. UK is making their mark. Shame taking part is out of the question for me for many reasons. Kinda sucks that you need a partner.

Already got costumes, source, and skit planned :3 I'm doing my deconstructions and face/side sketches as I type.

Flammie would need Karen to have something SoM related. Besides, what we have planned is even cooler!
