Seller Feedback?
I'd like to put forward the idea of having a thread in the Marketplace forum for buyers to leave feedback on people who have sold them an item through Cosplay Island.

I didn't think that this sort of thing would be necessary on this website, as (from what I've seen), transactions on here tend to go without a hitch. So I fell into this trap and went ahead with my first transaction on here over a month ago and I'll be honest, it couldn't have gone any worse. I think it would be nice to be able to give some sort of feedback to other people looking to buy from members on here, so they know what to expect in the future.

I was just wondering what kind of style for reviews you would think would be best appropriate. Originally I was thinking along the lines of eBay style feedback? Perhaps a score out of five for (ripped straight from eBay) item as described, communication, dispatch time, P&P charges - only problem with this is people would judge 5/5 scores differently to another. Or would a short description of the transaction work better do you think? Cosplay.Com have the description feedback and from what I've seen, it works really well.

All in all, is this even a good idea? Do you feel it would be better to just have to chance it every time and hope the seller makes everything reasonable?

I definitely agree with this, although my transactions have been good I know Mungojerrie's had a pretty bad experience and she's probably not the only one. Some sort of feedback system would be awesome

The marketplace runs on community trust, so it's important to share your experiences, but at the same time these are private transactions and you need to be able to resolve issues yourselves.

An ebay-esque system is unlikely to happen, but we're going to think about this one and see if there's anything we can do to help.

A way of doing this without having to implement a new system would be for the seller to request buyers to leave a quick feedback on the original sales post after they've received the item. Then, the next time this seller sells something, they can link it back to the previous post and say "that's what people said about me last time".

It would require the seller to keep track of where their old posts are, but that's what bookmarks are for.

I didn't mean an actual eBay style system would need implementing, my original idea was that we could have a pinned thread and just leave replies as feedback on there. Sorry, should have made that more clear.

I was able to resolve the problems I had with the first sale on my own in the end. I'm not saying that if someone has a bad experience they should start spouting off about how people should never deal with the seller again etc, but it would be nice to have some sort of advanced warning about what to expect with certain sellers.

Cha, a simple thread of;

On the same subject, could we have a pinned thread of reliable commissioners, ebayers etc or good places to buy wigs and cosplay items - that are outside cosplay islands. And then maybe an avoid list. It would stop other cosplayers from being scammed.

I know this would add to the load you guys have, but to stop random people adding to it, and to stop repeats of companies, perhaps having it so only the mods/admins can add information/people there, if it's recommended by CI users. That way, it could also stop spam ones.
