Coat help
Hello, I'm cosplaying Kurisu Makise some time soon. But I have no idea how to make her coat.

http://orphicanime.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/moe-174556-amane_suzuha-faris_nyanyan-hashida_itaru-kiryuu_moeka-maid-makise_kurisu-okabe_rintarou-pantyhose-shiina_mayuri-steinsgate-urushibara_luka.jpg

I would rather an online tutorial or a free pattern, if possible.

I would also like help with how to line the inside of the coat, as i've never done that before either ^^;

Thanks for any help~

Oooh, Steins;Gate!

Actually that's more a sporty jacket style and those jackets are usually unlined.

For a pattern you could take any simple jacket pattern, omit the collar and just hem where the collar is supposed to be.** Not sure where you can find a free one, but if you find one I suggest making it around 2 sizes larger than your own size.

To be honest, for sewing it's best to use books rather than online tutorials. I know both Chelmsford and Colchester libraries have rather good sewing books!

**ETA: I think it doesn't have a collar??? But because of her hair you never actually see that bit of the jacket... it could be that the collar is the same stripe as the cuffs actually.

Yeah I see what your saying about it being a sporty type of jacket,rather than a coat. I might go and have a look in chelmsford library this week to see if i can pick up any good sewing books thanks

If you're planning on doing the lining, it's done by mostly making the pattern again with lining material, and sewing it so its stitch and fold are under the lining. I'd go with what Mr Pez above says about acquiring a patter book rather than a tutorial online.

Don't you mean Miss Pez ^^;

Yeah I think I will look for a pattern book. I do often use tutorials or patterns found online. (or just make them up myself. It usually works well, but I don't feel so confident this time. =p

Doh, my mistake. I apologise sincerely. Didn't look at the profile.
