I've only starting going to events this year, haha. I've only been to Midlands Expo and Kitacon, and I didn't even cosplay at Midlands :x I've got Ayacon next month and then I'm thinking of going to London Expo in October, even if it is just for the day :'D

I used to go to London Expo for only one day, but I have so many friends that I only get to see at London Expo and so many cosplays that I want to do that I now try to go for two days when I go there XD

I think it's impossible not to get addicted ahaha. You do it once or twice to try it out and then the cosplays to do pile doesn't stop from getting taller (Ahaha, I couldn't resist a SB&HJ reference which may have failed because I don't remember the line exactly) and you get addicted.

Aaah, got a half-styled Jade wig next to me on the desk! Currently trying to force it to have a normal fringe, which punky wigs aren't particularly happy about.But the two big backspikes are already done also, I'm hoping that if I'm very lucky, I might get the jacket finished tonight! I'm just about to go and iron part of the collar and then sew it, after that all that remains is cutting the bottom into shape and hemming it, more tonnes of ironing, and adding the button

And then I'm going to my boyfriend's for our Con Air movie night. Gog damn yeah.

I had a great time at Manchester Expo! There was a really awesome little Homestuck group and I had lots of fun

I've also decided to go ahead with the Dave cosplay since all I need for it is the sunglasses (which shouldn't be hard to find) and to find my black jeans which I actually haven't seen for a year ^^;

I did a test and I seemed to suit Dave much better than expected :o

Also.. I made a YouTube account just for Homestuck cosplay videos as I plan to make some~ I have another main YouTube account but I don't think many of my subscribers there are intersted in Homestuck and I don't want to spam it with silly Homestuck videos. Plus, fresh starts are nice sometimes.

I got my shirts for Dave and Jade. I was worried I wouldn't be able to bind for Dave too well but it doesn't look that obvious shame about the wig though. It's lovely and would work SO well... if it weren't so long. I can't cut it myself without mutilating it so I either have to find someone willing to help me out or go as a longer-haired Dave. I can't risk ruining a wig. Pffff. And I'm still on the hunt for a skirt for Jade, haha. Ahh well, just over a fortnight left D:

I kinda suck with cutting wigs but I'm sure some people could give you some tips for your Dave wig if you're looking to cut it! How much longer is it? DX

It's this long D: (unflattering pictures ahoy!) I know it's gonna need a cutting if it's going to be decent but my hands are ridiculously shaky and I don't have any friends who can cut hair/wigs either. I'm lost on what to do with it at the moment ;_;

Ah, that is pretty long but it COULD still work if you didn't cut it, it'd probably fit much better if you did cut it though.

I'm not very good at cutting wigs either but I find that even if you don't do a great job with the cutting, it still usually looks alright. I've only ever cut the fringe parts on my wig though so maybe I'm not the best person to ask ^^;

I'm hoping to sell it on the marketplace now and have ordered another one which should, fingers crossed, come in time! If not, I have one which I may be able to use as a back up as a last resort. But I decided that, with the longer wig, it's not worth potentially ruining a gorgeous wig which is perfectly fine as it is. I'm sure someone else could put it to better use!

I also ordered my sunglasses for Dave and have a ton of skirts for Jade in my sights :'D I'm hoping for one that is long but not so long it hides my socks - I'm wearing thigh-high rainbow socks as it's a bit of a headcanon of mine 8D

I bought the material to make Nepeta's hat and tail aswell as a black t-shirt and some green fabric paint for Nepeta and the sunglasses/shades for my Dave cosplay so I'll take some complete Dave cosplay photos in the week if I can find my black jeans.

Started working on my Nepeta cosplay I've painted the first layer of the Leo symbol onto the t-shirt and I'm currently waiting for it to dry to paint the second, it's looking pretty good already! (I was scared that the paint would soak in and not stand out but it stands out well)
I'll start the hat or tail tomorrow and buy the face paint

I'm really excited about this cosplay and my Eridan cosplay in planning.
Not really sure about how I'm going to do the wig for Eridan yet though.. ><

When you Eridan I will Karkat and we will HATE SHIP. <3<

For the Eridan wig, I would either suggest a spray bottle of watered down PVA glue or a wire frame. I'm too great doing the two myself, but I know for a fact there are tutorials about.

I've been tempted in the past, since I've been told I could make a cute Jade. ;w;

I went shopping with a friend yesterday and got a bunch of stuff for my Homestuck cosplays, especially Nepeta! I'll make the horns + put the finishing details (nose and eyes) on the hat tonight hopefully aswell as making Eridan's wwand because I can.

We also saw Justin Beiber and sea creatures buckets which were pretty hilarious. And I bought a bucket of chalk. (Oh my, am I really telling a whole thread about my bucket buying habits? How embarrasing!)

I found the PERFECT purple hair extension which was really nice quality (not really fake plasticy as some coloured extensions seem to be) aswell as being only £4 so I bought it! I'm planning to clip the extension under the wig and bring it up with lots of product as I heard from a really good Eridan that was what they did for their wig *__*

It's been decided that my friends and I are going to the Saturday of October Expo so I'll probably be cosplaying Dave. My friend's mum doesn't know of my cosplaying (and she wouldn't approve) so it would be easy for me to get away with Dave, since I wear his outfit regularly anyway and I can just pop the wig on in the journey there xD

I'm going to go shopping for a suit jacket and shirts for Four Aces Suited too, soon! And I've ordered the Broken Record shirt and the Atom shirt for Jade too (and a Karkat shirt but not for cosplay, he's just my patron troll) xD

Yay for Homestuck t-shirts! I wear my Dave one all of the time. I kinda want to get an Eridan t-shirt with him being my patron troll and my favourite along with Nepeta but am I the only one who finds the astrological-sign-on-a-tshirt element kinda unwearable? Even if Aquarius is my own sign which makes it a little more wearable, I just wouldn't want anyone trying to strike up a conversation with me about that. :/
I also want the 'car' Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff t-shirt. It glows in the dark, HOW COULD I NOT WANT IT? The stairs one is cool too with stairs being the classic moment in SBaHJ but that car one just seems much more wearable looking and casual to me.

Also, if I do get it, Dave + SBaHJ t-shirt times will happen. Especially with it being red.
